There was always something about this David Cook fellow that I loved beyond any shadow of a doubt. If we look back at the numerous articles I have written for this year’s fabulous American Idol season, you will see that I was drawn to David’s Cook’s talent at a very early stage in this year’s competition. In fact, I believe that this is the point when his life changed forever; the fans were converted in droves.
More than any rock singer that has appeared on this show, David brings consummate artistry, an intelligent, yet sincere persona and superb technical skills to all his performances. His technique may not be as refined as David Archuleta’s, but it is still well-formulated and ingrained in his vocal delivery.
Also, he has always been able to tap into the emotional core of every song and use these emotions to render distinct interpretations to each and every song. There is a purity to his voice which I absolutely love and, when he mixes this clean, immaculate sound with his rock-inspired vocals, it makes for a great “masterclass” ride indeed!
Presently, he is working very hard with Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo for his debut album with 19 Recordings/RCA Records. The album is scheduled for release this November and will, no doubt, sell exceptionally well.
And all the fans have expressed a great amount of interest in having some of David’s exceptional original material on this first CD. In fact, it would be an absolute shame if this idea did not achieve full fruition. Have a listen to some of his own material from Analog Heart and you will wholeheartedly agree that David’s music is stellar! Very intelligent production values and brilliantly conceived melodic and harmonic structure.
However, until November comes, you can still purchase his American Idol coronation anthem, “Time Of My Life”. To me, this is the strongest American Idol theme song to have emerged from Idol and it is because of David’s passionate artistry and creative interpretive skills that this single has done so well, presently charting in the Top 100 on Amazon.com and Top 50 on Billboard.Com
Hi…NBC used ” Time Of My Life ” last night when they summed up the evening’s Olympic coverage. Pretty cool.

For once, I can say I really do like the AI ‘anthem’ … it is rich in texture, although I’m pretty sure that’s due to Cookie!
It was used so beautifully in the Viennese Waltz on So You Think You Can Dance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCzHOwO_HOk
