Masterclass Discussion For America’s Got Talent YouTube Discoveries

Tonight we finally get to see and hear the YouTube talent discovered by the Season Six America’s Got Talent Team. So, there are still some valuable hidden gems out there.

Remember, this time last year, we witnessed the beginning of Jackie Evancho’s career. She was Season Five’s YouTube discovery and sang her way to the Finale with extraordinary finesse and poise.

I can’t wait to see tonight’s show. The show already has a stellar line-up, what with Landau-Eugene Murphy Jr., Daniel Joseph Baker, Anna Graceman, Silhouettes and Team iLuminate.

However, twelve acts will either wow us or no. Remember, they were discovered via YouTube so they have not had the opportunity to perform before a live audience. That alone heightens the suspense.

Please come back and comment away. :).

  1. I’m watching tonight’s show right now. I also watched the 2 shows from last week. I think America & the judges got it mostly right last week. The ILuminate Team was absolutely amazing. The only negative outcome was that the bike act came home. I really thought their act was outstanding even with the one bobble.

Tonight there were several good acts. I thought the singer, Kevin, was very good, great voice, good stage presence. I’m not sure what he was doing with the guitar, though. I don’t think he was actually playing. But it’s a small gripe. Gabe Rocks was adorable. How can you argue with a performing bulldog? Rhetorical question. The 14-year-old dancer was amazing too. She could do anything she wanted with her technique. Gymanstics, ice skating, ballet, & modern dance. It was all there.

And then Gymkana. Great show. The dancers from Virginia – another great act. And the bicyclist. So I think shrinking that group to 4 is going to be hard AND interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens.

  2. Rosanne,

Hello!! How are you? I was disappointed for the most part with the You Tube acts, and just can’t believe how some of them even got enough votes to get on the show!

  3. I agree Anita. It was pretty lackluster compared to last year’s show. I loved that Gothic Dance Team and singer Kevin Colis. The illuminated biker – not so much. Team I.Luminate is far superior I feel.

  4. Rosanne,

Ah, we’re on the same page regarding the illuminated biker. I didn’t think he was as great as the judges were saying.

  5. No Anita, he wasn’t. Maybe he has more tricks up his sleeve and he does seem like a genuinely sweet guy but I did prefer others over him.

  6. okay so I just watched the repeated version of the youtube auditions, and wow to “Gymkana” – don’t know if the spelling is correct. I was in awe sitting here! Have the results been given yet? I’m curious…and want to know. who made it from these guys?

  7. Bizzee – Gymkana made it to the semi-finals as did singer Kevin Colis, the ballet dancer and the “glow in the dark” biker. Lol. Can’t remember all the names.

The gothic dancers were selected for the Wild Card show which airs tonight. They are my favorite group out of the acts tonight. We shall see what happens.

  8. Hi MCL. The ballet dancer is Beth Ann Robinson. The glow-in-the-dark biker is Matt Wilhelm (I had to look him up). The gothic dancers are West Springfield Dance Team. I don’t know how the whole wild card thing works but I hope they make it through.

I agree with you regarding Matt Wilhelm. He’s talented but he’s nowhere near as good as Team iLuminate.

  9. Beth Ann Robinson is fantastic. Why do people call her “ballet dancer”? She looks like a contemporary dancer to me. I was really sad to see her go.

  10. I agree, Kitty. Beth Ann mixes elements from many styles of dance & comes up with something that is unique, definitely contemporary and wonderful. I also was sorry to see her go. I wish the Smage Brothers would have gone in her place. At least Professor Splash is out. In general, I was pleased with who made it into the top but Beth Ann was definitely fun to watch and I wish that Daniel Joseph Baker had made it through also. Otherwise, I am OK with what is happening.
