Masterclass Discussion For America’s Got Talent Quarter-Finalists: Round Four

20110802-083242.jpg

Tonight’s show will feature the final group of 12 acts from the Top 48.

So far, this show, with a few exceptions, has failed to disappoint. There is some serious star power happening this year on America’s Got Talent

One of my favorite acts this year is Illuminate and they will most assuredly light up this evening’s program (pun intended).

Please come back and comment away. :).

  1. Rosanne,

Illuminate is awesome, and one of the best acts for sure. I don’t quite have everyone’s names straight yet. The young girl who sings and plays piano is also very impressive. I hope though, that an act besides a singer wins this season. I’m getting rather tired of Piers smart mouth when it comes to Howie. Whether it’s just an act, or if Piers really dislikes Howie that much, He needs to stop it. Howie is a wonderful addition to the judging panel!

  2. Interesting show tonight! I loved iluminate and the juggler (his name slips my mind right now). Don’t know what happened to the first guy (King Kinetic or Kinetic King)… I can’t see him entertaining a audience for one hour in Vegas anyway…imagine, it took him 36 hours just to set up that trick and then it didn’t work/or there was a problem! How would he adjust his act to do this?

i just read your tweet about Taylor…I was curious to hear what you had to say. I thought he was on key, but noticed his voice was shaky when he hit the lower range…now I know why! 🙂 Love learning from experts….Thanks, MCL.

I also thought the three girls were cute, but have to agree with Piers (I think it was him, or was it Sharon) who said that they are still young and their voices will mature. They are a bit high pitched right now. I’m definitely no singing expert, but I’m sure if they receive proper vocal training/technique, in a few years, they will be stellar! (Am I right? hehe…)

i hope to see iluminate and the magician move on!

  3. Yea – action on my AGT blog topic.

Anita – I think the Howie/Piers fued is just an act. Howie seems to enjoy himself far too much when Piers “eggs” him in.

And, actually, I thought Piers was bang on in comments last night. Especially about the juggler and the dancing man. Piers and Sharon were all over the map. Strange.

Bizzee – Iluminate was one of the most brilliant acts I have ever seen. They will probably win. But, Silhouettes will give them a run for their money.

And, don’t forget Landau. He is a rare find in the music biz.

  5. I forgot about the juggler…yes, he was impressive and I agree, I don’t know what Sharon and Howie were thinking. For them to not think that what the juggler was amazing…just because he didn’t “top” his last performance is just weird. I love that he went in a different direction and showcased just how versatile he is.

And yes…the Silhouettes are awesome. Will definitely give good competition.

  6. Bizzee247,

I surely agree with you about the juggler. His act just blew my mind. I was shocked that Howie and Sharon were not very impressed. His juggling had to be so intricate to play the piano the way he did!

  7. I absolutely hate the final two acts (whoever comes in 4th and 5th) are decided my the judges of who is going to make it to the semis. I cannot believe they put Melissa through instead of the Juggler. Yes, Melissa is good and talented, but they definitely got this one wrong. The Juggler should have been put through hands down…much much more entertaining and talents. Interesting that Howie’s comment last night was that “up to this point, no comedian has been put through” and then tonight he was the one to decide who gets to go through….hmph. I’m not happy with that result. Other than that, I’m so glad illuminate are through…so deserving!! I just love them.

  8. Bizzee247,

I certainly agree with you. The first thing I said after the judges had made their decision was what an injustice that was to not choose the Juggler. What he does takes so much more skill.

  9. Bizzee – the problem here was that the juggler was “set up”. He insulted Howie and Sharon during the performance show when he said to Piers: “Your opinion is the only one I respect”. Wow! I said to my hubby: “Well, he’s toast! You watch, he will be one of the acts decided by the judges on the results show”. And he was.

Melissa grates on my nerves something fierce. She won’t advance further.

  10. Oh I completely forgot about that comment; you are definitely right, that was the nail in his coffin. Too bad though. Anita, his talent certainly does take much more skill…completely agree with you!

I’m glad I’m not the only one that despises Melissa. I think she is very annoying, yes talented, but more annoying than anything.
