She studied piano with Anne Pizzale and later, at an advanced level, with Soeur Anita Vaugeois (Sister Cecile of Les Soeurs De L’Assomption in Timmins). Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli.
When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was hired as a piano accompanist for several musical companies, most notably, the National Ballet Of Canada. She presently holds an A.R.C.T. Teacher’s Diploma in Voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler.
She has been a founding member of numerous community-based arts organizations: the Timmins Arts Council, later known as Arts & Culture Timmins, the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, and, the Timmins Youth Singers…as well as the TYS Alumnus choir, the Timmins Concert Singers. In 1987, she was also selected to be the conductor of the Timmins Board Of Education Choir, comprised of talented students from Grades 5 to 8.
In 1988, she was elected to the Board Of Directors of the Ontario Choral Federation (now known as Choirs Ontario), where she served as Chair of the Festivals Committee for six consecutive seasons. Lots of good performances tonight. Folks stepping up that I haven’t cared for previously like Mackenzie and Chris.
Chevel had another great night following her performance last week. She had the best breathing control I’ve seen from her all season which had been her weakness.
Reagan continues to grow, and if she has a flair for writing songs that speak to her young audience, she could be a threat. My personal favorite, Sara Grace, had a less than stellar night last week but pulled off a decent rendition of “The Dog Days are Over” tonight. It’s a shame that they insist on her singing songs that are not in her chosen genre, but she is doing ok with it.
I agree with Idol Girl and Vonnie’ remarks from last week about the likely winner. One of the teens, most likely Kennedy. I don’t have a problem with that. Although I probably ill not be one of her customers in the future, I think she has greatness in her.

Sorry I’m late to the ballgame…I too think Reagan is a threat, I’m thinking she may be the front runner now. I still do not have a favorite!
My boy Tony was ROBBED last night; he should have sang Grand Tour.

I think you are right about Reagan being the current front runner after two weeks of leading the streaming. I’m not sure that the streaming results will be as telling as iTunes sales have been in the past but she does have a lot of current appeal. She has a lot of early Taylor Swift type appeal except that she sings much better and hasn’t sold out her audience..So far Kennedy has been reliving someone else’s past.
I didn’t realize another episode (Tony’s episode) of Real Country had been on. I just watched the one with the girl who sang “I’ve Been Everywhere” I have it recorded so I’ll watch it later.

Wow Vonnie. That’s a shocker! Tony is way better that he presented on this show. I’ve only seen the first performance from each of them and I did like the other guy but I’m with you on Tony. This show has themes for each episode and that, combined with choosing to do a Travis Tritt song wasn’t the best combination for him.

Gene, I know right? I didn’t care for the song Tony sang and he sounded a little nervous, made me really sad, because like you said, he is way better than that. They should be allowed to sing whatever they want, he would have done so much better with Grand Tour OR his own songs. I did read that the studio audience idea is flawed, because of larger fan bases and families being the audience, makes perfect sense. I guess when a show is pretaped, you gotta find an audience from somewhere and where else would you look, other than fan base, locals and families. I still think he should do the voice and maybe now since he was on this show he will be invited for an audition, seems that The Voice and Blake may have a pony in the race since they plugged it on their show.
Anyhoo, yeah, I’m not sure how the streaming measures up for Reagan, but this is how it was last season with Brynn. I think Chris is going to sneak in too, I’m not sure who’s voting, country listeners or younger listeners. iTunes certainly is a mixed bag.

My favorites of the night, Sarah Grace and Chevel…although in the world of Facebook, they are losing their minds over her rendition of Amazing Grace and not in a good way. I thought it was stellar; and she is in the #1 spot on iTunes.

Forgot to add MaKenzie to my favorites, she is probably the most overlooked artist on the show.

I’m not a fan of Sarah Grace, as I can’t understand a word she sings.

I’m with you Vonnie. Sarah Grace took the Blind Boys of Alabama’s version of “Amazing Grace” laid over “The House of The Rising Sun” and kicked it up another notch. I wasn’t impressed with her trumpet playing but it did add an element of risk to her performance and she pulled it off without a hitch. I have read a few people whining about her rendition, but as I recall reading, Jesus went where sinners could be found and I suspect that some of the places this aspiring young Blues singer might find herself singing in the future might be just such a place. For now, NBC’s national audience will do. I agree with Idol Girl that Sarah needs to work on enunciation, but I could understand her last night and she is a Blues singer after all.
Chevel doesn’t have a pretentious bone in her body. She’s really like that! The band and back up singers were a bit much in her performance. I like the direction she is going, and would like to hear what she would do in the way of original music in the future. It would be nice if radio would recognize that a lot of people like traditional country music.
Reagan had a terrible night which is Adam’s fault. Too much song for her abilities. Her fans will likely save her though.
For my money Kirk has only had one good performance and that was the knockout round. The other guys just don’t interest me.
MaKensie (sp?) was good but not nearly on the level of the divas that J Hud lumped her in with. She lacked the nuance in several key areas of last nights song that were the signature moments for Celine Dion.
Not my style but Kennedy checked another box on her resume with the youthful, contemporary, dance-able song she did last night. Seemed to do it well.
It was good to see Kimberly tone down her performance and just deliver a tasteful, well crafted vocal.

Wow! That is the most horrible thing I have ever witnessed on this show! What Adam did is inexcusable, Reagan should have been automatically eliminated. This certainly has changed how I feel about this show.

“Reagan Strange” Good play on words Idol Girl!
On the old Idol, if you didn’t perform, you forfeit. End of story.
Adam was in an awkward position given the “apparent” rules on the Voice. Maybe he should have ask one of the other Coaches to advocate for one of his artist. Kelly stepped up and did so in the end, maybe because she remembered the old Idol rules.

Adam could have split his time and spoke for both, he humiliated that young man. Yes, everything about Reagan was strange, I agree with idol rules, if you can’t sing, you forfeit. I am glad Kelly stepped up and spoke for DeAndrea. Well, did Adam seal her fate for next week and she will go home?

Well, I guess if there is a silver lining to all of this, everyone is so made at Adam that maybe they’ve forgotten that they didn’t like Sarah Grace’s song.

Last night I assumed that Reagan felt that she would surely be eliminated and couldn’t go through with the sing off and therefor chose to forfeit. I was surprised that they would allow her to garner votes without performing. Those sing off performances are character revealing events for many artist. Some of the very best Idol performances were the farewell performances when someone was voted off the island. On the other hand, she gave up he ability to redeem herself.
Adam actively campaigning against one of his contestants was unacceptable. I think I understand why he put his eggs in the Reagan basket, but he shouldn’t have sold out DeAndrea in the process.
I think there will be a backlash against Reagan next week.
I don’t think Sarah Grace was ever in any trouble with her fans. I didn’t look at the iTunes charts but she said she reached third overall on the chart. “Amazing Grace” has been done a thousand different ways to suite the style of singers of many different genres. I’m pretty sure the song and it’s message will survive Sara Grace’s rendition of the Blind Boy’s of Alabama’s arrangement.

Gene, my chin was most definitely on the floor watching that whole scene unfold; DeAndre’s face was so hurt, you could see him deflate. I hope this show steps up and does the right thing; I think Reagan should be disqualified, I’m not sure how they could resolve Dave and DeAndre’s sabotage. Maybe bring them both back and elimate four next week or however many plus two that they were going to eliminate. I think this is why I think a jr. voice would be needed. I agree with your assessment, I think she knew her performance the night before was lacking. I don’t know, but the show really needs to fix this. I think going forward, this would be a great time to end the instant save and go with the night before’s votes; this has been a sore spot with the west coast anyways.
Yeah, I think Sarah will be okay, if she can take each song that is given to her and turn them into something she would put on an album, she will do fine! How about that Chevel? Is she ever a little spitfire, she is quickly becoming my favorite.

The instant save is the root of the problem and it is purely a marketing scheme at the expense of the contestants. I agree that this would be a great opportunity to end the practice. Along with it would go the practice of putting the “tweet score” on the screen during the elimination. That’s just not very nice.
I can’t see putting these guys back in if it means a heavy cut next week. Two per week is too many, I wouldn’t want to see it go higher. I think Adam ought to go into his own pocket, privately, and set DeAndrea up with some studio time and promotion. Both of them seemed to be headed for the door but what Adam did was the wrong way to approach the issue. The Voice needs to take another look at their rule book very soon before this happens again.
I’m enjoying Chevel too. It’s interesting that we have three young female throwbacks in this one season. Chevel is from a different time and place though. I’m surprised that no one was upset by her singing the lyrics “I like my lovin’ country style” at 16 years old! It brings back memories of Bill Clinton’s El Camino with AstroTurf in the bed for some reason…

Yeah, I’m not sure what they can do to fix this but they need to do more than nothing. I think if they pass this off and say nothing, I may have to turn my tv. I think the fair thing is to bring back Dave and DeAndre and disqualify Reagan. Dave didn’t stand a chance, sympathy votes for DeAndre and Adam loyalty votes for Reagan; but I think if it could be done honestly, the one with the least viewer votes from Monday night leaves with Reagan and the other one moves on to semifinals.
Lol, I’m sure everyone was too busy losing their minds over Sarah Grace’s song to notice Chevel’s and even Kennedy’s song lyrics…Lol, Astro Bill, that’s funny 😄
So what’s this thing with AGT? Is this the grand finale for the show 🤔

Vonnie,
It sounds like you have come up with a sound solution to this sticky wicket. Reverting to the original vote is the best solution. Reagan should withdraw on her own. There is always “the other hand” so if we reverted to the actual fan vote, that would predate Reagan’s failure to perform and therefore, she should be included in the original vote solution. Whichever one of the three who had the most fan vote would continue under that scenario.
There are means of contact in the Voice app. I haven’t paid much attention to them and I assume they probably involve some form of social media such as Twitter. I don’t use any of those but you may find a way to “voice” your suggestion through the app.

Lol, I think by the looks of the social sites, The Voice is hearing a whole lot of unfiltered opinions from the viewers. I’ll just be curious to see if they address it!
How many go home next week?

I think they will have to address it.
Assuming we are right that Reagan couldn’t perform under the pressure of elimination, she won’t be able to perform under this pressure either. She may get boooed. I strongly expect that she will withdraw and the may reinstate DeAndrea.
***Conspiracy theory alert*** This episode may play into my old “ringer” theory. DeAndrea performed like a pro earlier in the competition but his stock seems to be crashing now. Adam may have known that he was a ringer and therefore jumped in to save his “real” contestant.
I don’t know what the normal number would have been. I assume two.

Oh!, but I do love a good conspiracy theory! I will guarantee you that, that is how they (the show) will spin this…
Four is a lot to send home all at once! They maybe need to knock-out one of their knockout rounds and make the live shows longer and not eliminate so many at a time.
Tonight is going to be interesting… I can’t imagine though that the masses will drop their protest signs, unless Reagan is eliminated and DeAndre is reinstated…poor Dave gets the boot either way, he didn’t stand a chance after that fiasco.

MCL,
It’s another ridiculously large cut tonight as they go from eight to four. As you can see from Vonnie and Idol Girl’s favorites on the night, seven of the eight are represented! There is no consensus on who should stay and who should go. The two old-soul 16 year old girls, traditional country singer Chevel and blues singer Sarah Grace are my favorites, but the first three from Idol girl’s list are very talented singers as well.
Following the Voice last night, NBC aired a Pentatonixs Christmas Special. They are the a-capella group that won the third season of the NBC’s Sing-Off. Their special guest was Kelly Clarkson who sang “My Grown up Christmas List.” Good stuff!
Michael Buble is going to be on the Voice tonight.
