Well here we are in Finale Week! And it looks like the showdown is between Team Adam and Team Blake.
Unfortunately, not one artist from Team Gwen and Team Pharrell received enough votes or tweets or however they measure the vague voting system in this series to make the Grand Finale.
I haven’t been religiously following The Voice but, according to my knowledgeable readers here in the MCL Community, poor artistic decisions and song choices from the eliminated Team Mentors adversely affected the final outcome. Too bad.
However, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams are the new kids on the block and were probably learning the ropes as the show progressed.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have refined their judging and mentoring skips over the past 7 seasons so I can’t say I am totally surprised by the outcome here.
Here is the breakdown of the remaining singers:
Team Adam
Chris Jamison
Damien
Matt McAndrew
Team Blake
Craig Wayne Boyd
The Voice airs on Monday and Tuesday, December 15th and 16th at 8:00 PM on NBC.
Please add your comments and recaps in the comments section – let’s dig deep together and really analyze the performances together.
And don’t forget to download The Voice iPhone App here:
or the iPad App here: .By doing so, you can cast your votes nice and early, thus ensuring that your favorite moves on in the competition.
Comments are now open for business.
I have to give Pharrell cudos for bringing a Joni Mitchell song to the Voice, or any TV singing competition for that matter. That’s a first in my memory.
This group of finalist is a a near perfect representation of the genres of all of the past winners. There is a R&B /Soul singer, a Country singer, a Pop singer, and a throw back Blue Eyed Soul singer.
It should be interesting.

wow, matt with ‘wasted love’ is number one on itunes!! that is a giant deal. taylor swift has been up there for so long. i thought craig would get there last week and i don’t think he did, i only saw him at number two. and it is interesting, damien is lower down than the other three. so it follows along with the voting. i’ve not watched any of the show yet, so i can’t comment on that.

wow, itunes is FILLED with Voice songs. i’ve never seen there be this much of a take-over EVER and i check it all the time. 1,2,3, are matt, craig, chris. taylor swift has been pushed to 4. then 7, 8, 10, 11,13, 14, 17, 22, 26, 33, 35, okay, i’m going to stop now. but this is absolutely amazing. damien will go first, then chris will go second. probably matt will win and craig will be second, although i suppose that could be reversed.

Congrats to Craig on his win. For me, this was one of the most even final groups I’ve seen on The Voice. I would not have been totally shocked if any of the final four had won.

I agree with you Idol Girl. But I thought that Matt was probably going to win. I was pleasantly surprised that it was Craig.

Joe Cocker dead at age 70. RIP I saw him in concert over 40 years ago right after the famous Mad Dogs and Englishmen concert.
I got to see his old buddy Leon Russell (the “Mad Dog”) in a small venue in town on November 14 playing his heart out for a crowd of a few hundred people.
Go see the legends while you still can.

I got to see Paul McCartney in October. Best concert I’ve ever been to.

Idol Girl,
That’s good to hear. I’m glad that you were able to go see him. I’m sure it was a great show and probably a once in a lifetime experience. I’ve seen some of his recent shows on TV and they look like a most see show if you have the chance. My wife and I had seriously considered going over to Atlanta to see him but the tickets we wanted were $500.00 each, plus the trip and lodging etc. I have some heath issues that make the huge concerts pretty hard to attend as well.
So instead this we have had a great year of seeing quite a few concerts including Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, BB King, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Miranda Lambert, a newer artist named Diane Birch (who sounds a lot like Laura Nero and Carroll King rolled into one) Hall and Oats along with Daryl’s band from his TV series, Eric Clapton, Delbert McClinton, Dan Hicks and The Hot Licks and Leon Russell. I hadn’t seen Delbert in almost 30 years and Dan Hicks, Clapton and Leon Russell were on my Bucket List. Clapton announced that he was through touring for the foreseeable future at the end of the tour. So I was very glad that we had gotten to see him, plus we saw him for free!
I would have liked to have seen Joe Cocker one more time before health issues and probably his singing style cost him his voice. I think it was around ’71 when I saw him last. I read that Ringo was coming to town but, even though he was a Beatle and his concerts are pretty good entertainment, I couldn’t bring myself to buy the tickets. The one show that I regret missing was the Allman Brothers Band’s last final concert.
That was a pretty good year or so of concerts for an old man. Oh yeah, I saw Kelly Pickler for free as well. We were going to see Jessica Muse from last season’s Idol on the 23rd but the weather was too bad to get out.
