David Cook And David Archuleta’s Heartwarming Reunion On Stage.

A couple of days ago, American Idol Season 7 Runner-Up, David Archuleta, surprised American Idol Season 7 winner, David Cook, with an impromptu visit during the latter’s concert in Sandy, Utah.

David Archuleta performed his hit, “Crush”, accompanied by background vocals supplied by David Cook. How perfect is this? And how exciting for the fans.

In my humble opinion, American Idol has slowly lost its way since Season 7, spending money shamelessly on judges and production when, in the end, all the fans want are excellent singers with genuine personalities and respect for the art.

This video should be a poster child for what American Idol can achieve when careful thought and expertise are invested in the selection of the singers.

Have a listen. It doesn't get better than this. The affection shared between these two Davids is wonderful to behold.

Were you at the concert? If so, please share your thoughts. And, for everyone else out there, let the fan jam begin in the comments section.

  3. We are slowly seeing bits and pieces of “the David we knew” resurface. He needed and deserved lots of transition time after his mission. Then he launched into the middle east tour, now this. His smile and the sparkle in his eyes for doing music for fans in external venues seems to be returning – I couldn’t be more excited!

  4. I was not at the concert but have seen the video. I watched the first 7 seasons of Idol. Then became a David Cook fan and Idol lost it’s magic. The talent of season 7 has not been duplicated since. I can’t stand the primping of judges. David Cook is the real deal as is David A. There is real respect and love between them.

  5. Great to see your comments about the two Davids singing together again. I knew David Archuleta would be at Cooks concert if there was any way for him to get there. There is and always has been great affection and admiration between these 2 amazing artists. The duet was a wonderful surprise for the audience. Hope I get to see these two together again soon.

  7. I’m waiting for these two to take their show on the road! They could alternate being the opener then come together at the end to perform some songs together. Now THAT would be a GREAT concert! 🙂

  9. I have been to many David Cook concerts since he won Idol. To me, this concert topped them all. David seemed more relaxed and happy, and in great voice (as always). There was just something different. To top of an already stellar concert, he coaxed Archie on stage, and the affection between the two was there for all to see. Such a special moment. I am so happy I was there to see it.

Precious moment shared between two Idols of S7. The affection is genuine and very much apparent between them. Good to know the older David is aware of the younger one’s hit song “Crush” and willingly gave him the time at his own concert. Nice to know they still constantly keep in touch. Wish Michael Johns was watching them from heaven.
