“The Voice” Season 6 Top 5 show airs on Monday, May 12th at 8:00 PM on NBC.

This will be followed by the Results Show on Tuesday, May 13th, where two singers will be eliminated based on viewers’ votes.

Boy, this show really knows how to dump a boatload of talent in one fell swoop, don’t they?

This is one of the reasons it is difficult to take this show seriously in terms of creating viable future stars. The talent never has an opportunity to grow and develop over a 9 or 10 week time frame, as it does on American Idol.

And, as a result, it is so difficult to establish strong fan bases.

That being said, this show does feature talent with a capital T and from all styles and genres. It makes for an incredibly entertaining show and the judges are excellent. Excellent!

Best of luck to the Top 5 contestants and they are:

Team Adam: Kat Perkins and Christina Grimmie

Team Usher: Josh Kaufman

Team Shakira: Kristen Merlin

Team Blake: Jake Worthington

  1. christina’s first song with that ‘what ever it was’ did not work for me. and it didn’t seem to work for the judges either. i thought that adam went a bit overboard in defensiveness when usher said he didn’t connect to the first part.

  2. Another sleepy night on The Voice for me. Jake’s first song was the only one that seemed to suit the contestant. Was Adam trying to throw Kat under the bus? At any rate, I think he may have used up another one of her nine lives. I still like Josh but didn’t love his song choices either.
