Some Sunday Evening Love For The Phenomenal David Archuleta

Thank you to Marc for making me aware of this video. I was on a quest for songs that have the perfect rhythm and drive for a healthy, brisk walking routine.  Music not only makes exercise a great deal of fun, but it also makes the time go by like “that”!

This video is a year and half old, but who cares, right?  Excellence is eternal and David Archuleta certainly embodies all the qualities I look for in an artist. His enthusiasm and passion for the music is so apparent in this video but the bottom line is this: David is one of the finest young singers to come along in a very, very long time.

My hope and my dream is that he finds someone truly great and sublimely gifted in the music industry who will move his career to an international level.  How did Jive ever let this young man go?  How?

Hang in there, David. It took David Foster a long time to achieve success with Michael Buble and look at him now.  Michael was ready to give up his musical dreams in his early twenties but he was fortunate to have a wise manager who kept him focused on the prize.

Time for the two Davids (Foster and Archuleta) to meet and begin the magical process of transforming David into a superstar.

  1. David is the best! Thanks for your praise of David and encouragement.
I think David made the decision to not renew his contract with Jive because he wants control of his career. He is enjoying his freedom and recently formed a new band which looks to be promising. I expect more soul in his music!
I got a chance to dance and jump to Zero Gravity while in Reno for one of David’s concerts.

  2. Thanks Rosanne! I had never seen that one. I usually watch a Zero Gravity Columbus video. I have a couple of new videos for you to see. Monday David performed as the headliner at the Nashville venue of a nationwide streamed event of Invisible Children. David did a great acoustic set with 2 members of his new band. Here he covers Daniel Bedington’s Gotta Get Through This with a bit of mashup at the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jajpmGEUCKo and in this one David beautifully delivers Kurt Bestor’s Prayer of the Children http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWlQGMbcA4A – enjoy!

  8. I know David Foster admires David Archuleta’s prodigious talent. During David’s stint on American Idol, Foster appeared several times on the TV show Access Hollywood to offer his thoughts on the contestants. By the end of the season, he concluded that David was the most worthy to take the title.

These two Davids have met on at least one occasion. For Thanksgiving 2009, David performed on Fox’s Kaleidoscope Skating Special along with Katharine McPhee, Olivia Newton-John, and David Foster. Here are some photos from an Olivia Newton-John fan site. You’ll see one with the two Davids, Olivia, and Katharine.

  9. Zero gravity is one of my favorite songs. Thank you so much for feeling about David what we as his fans feel. He truly is one of the greatest singers out there and his character speaks for itself. Phenominal young man!

  10. Masterclass Lady…I couldn’t agree more with you about David!
Since his decision not to stay with Jive, he has shown a new sense of freedom with his music. His acoustic set in Nashville was amazing.
Have you also seen his recent acapella covers of Stevie Wonder’s Ribbon in the Sky? One was done on the fly at a restaurant at the group’s request and the other one was on one of his recent vlogs.
    They are both amazing!

  11. I’ve always enjoyed your appreciation of David’s talent, MCL. I, too, long for someone to come along and mentor David. (Although I do think David’s got a great head on his shoulders and a firm grasp of what he wants to do … I just think we can all, always, use the help of others around us with more experience.)

  12. Heidijoy: I was also at the Reno event and especially remember David wearing that hooded grey/white sweater that he looked fabulous in. Then as he sang Touch My Hand and Zero Gravity he jumped around on that stage and that little hood was just bouncing around on his shoulders……so cute.

I can’t wait for someone to appreciate his talent and give him some “real” help with his career. And, at the risk of having everyone jump all over my back, was his Dad the one that was telling him what to sing when he was on Idol? Because I feel that every song he sang just showed off his terrific voice beautifully. After all, that was the music he sang when we all fell in love with him. Listening back to his Idol appearances, my feeling is that David has strayed from that and needs to be guided back. It’s just a matter of listening to him until you hear the crowd’s roar and you know exactly what we want to hear from him. That’s definitely what I want to hear from David.

  13. PS I wish someone like David Foster, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, etc. would take him under their wing like Usher did for Beiber. And he needs a good band. I liked the group when Kendra was a part of it. But better yet, the symphony Orchestras on his Christmas album. Or even the simple accompaniment when he sang Contigo en La Distancia. Aaaaahhhhhhhh…..I just don’t think that Pop is David’s niche……..to me he’s more of a Josh Groban.

Thank you, Master Class Lady, I always agreen with your thoughts.

  14. Thank you for posting this and recognizing David’s undeniable gift.

David has auditioned and hired himself a new band and I was more than impressed with their first acoustic outing for Invisible Children. The cover of Got To Get Through This just floored me, David and the band had an awesome vibe throughout the entire set.

The videos by hughestube1003 are superb.

  15. Zero Gravity is such an infectious song, and I can tell David always has a blast performing it. I remember David saying when her sang this duing a concert he had with a full symphony orchestra on his Christmas tour, that he couldn’t run up and down the stage, and dance to this. He had to be prim and proper with the orchestra, and it felt very strange to him. That surely tells you David has grown so much as a performer!!

David Foster would be the perfect person to guide David to superstardom!! Mr. Foster works with the finest of singers, and David most definately is in the category!! David has a new official fan site which is launching in less than a month. He hasn’t said anything yet, but perhaps that means he signed a new record deal. Otherwise, who is creating this fan site for him? Of course many people know David’s fans are to be reckoned with, aren’t we, and will go to great lengths to show him support!!!!

We get David…and he just needs the right people around him that get him too. David’s fans will always be here for him for any project and hopefully tour he is ready for. Our love for David and his amazing voice and talent will keep us hypnotized & mesmerized forever. David is truly a gem…and I think he will emerge onto the music industry with another hit song/album and we’ll all be here cheering him on!

  17. I don’t think David wants to be under anybody’s wing right now. I think he wants to find and develop himself and steer his own ship for a while. I think David has made it pretty clear that he doesn’t care much about fame and fortune but does care about being true to himself. I’m extremely pleased with the two new band members David picked out that we heard with him a week ago at the Invisible Children event. And I listened to some solo stuff the keyboardist has on his website and I loved that too so I am looking forward to hearing them all together. And I am happily awaiting whatever David comes up with under his own wing.
