Air & Simple Gifts – President Obama Inauguration Performance 2009

Who cares if this performance was live or pre-recorded? It was brutally cold outside and and the subpar temperature would have hindered these classical artists and their instruments to perform to this level of perfection.

What a performance! These stellar world-class artists have nothing to prove. They have given an infinite number of extraordinary live perfomances over the course of their combined careers, within the confines of the comfortable and warm environment of world-class concert venues.

  1. I totally agree, MCL–what a flap about nothing! There is no way it would have been safe to bring those priceless instruments out in that cold, nor does the cold do anything good to the sound of even modern instruments. But oh, what beauty they gave us…

SOoooo ridiculous and glad that you agree with me, ReReader and ArchieFanDoc. It was indeed a beautiful performance.

ArchieFanDoc – are you seriously going to write a letter to President Obama? You are the best!

  4. Rereader – thank you for sending the Jason links. I have yet had time to watch them but will do so later on today.

I am asking all my readers to remember a dear friend of mine in their prayers – she was hospitalized with a life threatening case of meningitis a couple of days ago. She lives in my neighborhood and we are very close. Everyone here is devastated.

  5. MCL, you may be sure I will include your friend in my prayers. How terrifying…

(And I’m glad you got the links! There is a nice article here about how the filmmakers found Jason for their soundtrack.)

  6. Thank you Rereader. Your prayers seem to be working. It seems that our friend is going to be okay. There are so many different stories surfacing about her prognosis, so, hopefully, this positive one is accurate.

I read the article about Jason. Nice one! Loved looking at his AI video once again. His voice is so suited to this song. He really is destined for huge success.

Have to watch the Santa Barbara Videos and then will add them as a new blog topic later on today.

  9. Isn’t this an exciting watch? And the writer is so accurate in mentioning that Jason adds nuance and cadence to this haunting melody – Hallelujah.

Thanks for sending this ReReader. Will add a blog entry about Jason ASAP. Running in circles here.
