Hi MCL (& everyone)….hope you’re feeling better. I’ve been away awhile dealing with medical issues (elderly father) but I have checked in regularly.
****SOUND THE TRUMPETS!!!*****
Crush video is up to #3 on the VH1 countdown!! This is huge…..last week it entered the countdown at #15, and this week jumped all the way to #3, surpassed only by Leona Lewis and Chris Daughtry. Way to go!! They opened the whole show with clips of David and comments about how it’s soaring up the charts.
Feel better MCL..I’m sure that regular doses of DA are part of the treatment plan!

Hi everyone:
I had a very busy weekend here in Timmins after helping to host The Canadian Tenors’ Performance in Timmins. They were in a word: extraordinary. Two words: exquisite vocals. Three words: stage presence plus! Four words: warm, genuine, loving personalities.
I am happy that there was such a strong team in place to host this concert or it would have been a disaster. As it turned out, the organizational team was a cohesive unit and produced a classy, memorable event. The concert was a huge success, the likes of which we will not see for a very long time.
I will write more about these young men once I start feeling better. I am having crazy pain on the right side of my mouth and it’s a complete mystery right now. It is draining to say the least. I’ve never experienced anything like this, so it’s a very unsettling. More medical appointments next week – we shall see what transpires.
Thank you so much for your well wishes. They made my day xo

Janey, Marc, Bizzee – thank you so much for your “get well” wishes and your links. They do indeed put a smile on my face.
I think I am developing an abcess, so the dentist prescribed antibiotics. The medication appears to be localizing the source of the pain and, just when I think it is actually healing, I experience another horrible bout of pain today.
I.have. had. it. Been to the doctors once, the dentist three times – so I am going to play this out over the weekend – that’s when the antibiotic treatment ends.
As you can expect, between my teaching and this pain, I am drained, so I can’t stay on the computer for long periods of time. But, it is so good to hear from you – thanks so much. xo

Last night I posted a Vimeo video from Wanda that Janey informed me of – but I did not post here. I have the link on Becky’s article page on FOD – fansofdavid, and Rae also has a link to video made by someone from the stands – just a snippet – but with this video you hear David’s voice resonating in the ball park and see people in the stands respectfully listening.
Tinuviel thought that David put a “pop” spin to GBA – what do you think??
Wishing you well MCL!

My modem crashed and so I am without Internet access at least until the end of the week. I am accessing my site from my daughter’s computer.
Also, I am much, much better and you get well wishes and prayers did the trick. Plus excellent doctor/dentist care.
I will review David’s performance of God Bless America once my computer is running again. It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so I have a turkey that needs attention.
CanNOT wait to hear David’s performance.
Thanks all. You people are the best!

Hi everyone:
I just listened to David’s version of “God Bless America” and was absolutely astounded by his performance. He has such a confident, centered vocal sound and this aspect, coupled with his liberated soulful style, made this performance truly stellar.
He must have perfect pitch or, perhaps, absolute pitch. It’s hard to say. Whatever pitch he has, it is truly remarkable and the clarity of his voice, as he spins those runs and turns, is so consistent. There is no clutter in David’s vocal timbre – his voice is extremely transparent.
You can feel the spiritual energy emanating from his soul, once again highlighting David’s personal mission to communicate the lyrics with honesty and integrity. Just beautiful!
I also listend to the snippets of his new songs and have to say that I like both of them, However, I LOVE “Touch My Hands” – you can hear the depth of David’s voice in this song, especially when he enters his baritone range. His voice is so rich and robust – such a contrast from his upper “head voice” range.
In fairness, it is difficult to pass judgement on these songs until one hears the entire track(s), but, I have no doubt that many songs will emerge as Number One hits from this CD.

Wow MCL! It’s great to read your review and I loved and agree with everything you said, but there is one thing you said which really hit home for me. It’s that David’s voice is “extremely transparent”. That was one of my first thoughts from the first time I heard David sing, how utterly transparent his voice is, that you can hear “into” his voice, man what an astounding instrument! It is what I find so mesmerizing about David’s voice, the amazing clarity and purity, just awesome!

I loved the confidence David showed in GBA. Millions watching and he looked cool as a cucumber. It was truly beautiful, wasn’t it?
David blogged tonight that he’s finished recording. I can’t get either one of the “hand” songs out of my head. What a remarkable performer. How many more days until the 11th?
