  2. Hi MCL (& everyone)….hope you’re feeling better. I’ve been away awhile dealing with medical issues (elderly father) but I have checked in regularly.

    ****SOUND THE TRUMPETS!!!*****
Crush video is up to #3 on the VH1 countdown!! This is huge…..last week it entered the countdown at #15, and this week jumped all the way to #3, surpassed only by Leona Lewis and Chris Daughtry. Way to go!! They opened the whole show with clips of David and comments about how it’s soaring up the charts.

Feel better MCL..I’m sure that regular doses of DA are part of the treatment plan!

  3. MCL, I hope this note finds you resting and getting your health back this weekend. Even though this video was taken some time ago it just posted on youtube. I hope it brings back fond memories for you, MCL. David seems just as lost in his ohohohhhhs and yahyahahhhas as me and the last “angels” is stellar!

  4. Feel better soon, MCL!

  5. Hi MCL, just a shout out to say I hope you’re feeling better!

  6. Hi everyone:

I had a very busy weekend here in Timmins after helping to host The Canadian Tenors’ Performance in Timmins. They were in a word: extraordinary. Two words: exquisite vocals. Three words: stage presence plus! Four words: warm, genuine, loving personalities.

I am happy that there was such a strong team in place to host this concert or it would have been a disaster. As it turned out, the organizational team was a cohesive unit and produced a classy, memorable event. The concert was a huge success, the likes of which we will not see for a very long time.

I will write more about these young men once I start feeling better. I am having crazy pain on the right side of my mouth and it’s a complete mystery right now. It is draining to say the least. I’ve never experienced anything like this, so it’s a very unsettling. More medical appointments next week – we shall see what transpires.

Thank you so much for your well wishes. They made my day xo

  7. Dear MCL, I’m sorry you are continuing to have pain. You are at the top of my prayer list and I sincerely hope you find some relief soon. It sounds like you were treated to quite a concert! I hope you were able to take your mind off of things, if even for a short while.

Please know that many of your fans are sending you kind thoughts and well wishes for the return of your health. Tell those doctors to get on it! We need you in tip top shape for 11/11!

    All the best, janey

  8. Awe MCL – feel better soon! I’ll be thinking of you!! I, myself, am stuck with some sort of cold, it is horrible! I just feel so drained of energy – I had quite an intense week last week, and am now feeling it catch up with me only to head into another intense week – boy oh boy!

Awe the Canadian Tenors – they are fabulous!

    Thinking of you!

  9. MCL, I hope today finds you feeling better. Time permitting, could you please review the first cover of David Cook’s “Light On”?

  10. Good Morning MCL, believing that you may still be feeling not up to par, marc has encouraged me to send you a video or two. Both of these have incredible close-ups and wonderful audio. Unfortunately they are not complete but still very much worth it. Angels from Evansville:

  11. And SBM and WYSYLM from the same person:

In rechecked my facts, these are from Hartford, my apologies.

  12. Good Morning MCL,
Just another shout out to say that I hope you are getting better. Get well fast!

  13. Here’s a get well wish from your 2 favorite Davids:

…..{{{hug}} to you and a get well wish from me, too.

  14. Janey, Marc, Bizzee – thank you so much for your “get well” wishes and your links. They do indeed put a smile on my face.

I think I am developing an abcess, so the dentist prescribed antibiotics. The medication appears to be localizing the source of the pain and, just when I think it is actually healing, I experience another horrible bout of pain today.

I.have. had. it. Been to the doctors once, the dentist three times – so I am going to play this out over the weekend – that’s when the antibiotic treatment ends.

As you can expect, between my teaching and this pain, I am drained, so I can’t stay on the computer for long periods of time. But, it is so good to hear from you – thanks so much. xo

  15. MCL sorry you are having such a hard time getting better I will continue to pray for you. Here is a little something to help you feel better. David singing “God Bless America” at the Tampa Bay – Boston playoff game.

  16. Hi MCL:
Cool, I see Gemzone has posted David singing God Bless America, Truly Outstanding! I sure hope the meds are working for you MCL. Get well real fast.

  17. Thanks for posting Gemzone — Ronaldsf has a good quality video unlike someone else!!
He changed up the song – I wonder if he just did that at the moment –
I like to compare young David singing this song — interesting if you play both at the same time!

Hope your are getting better MCL – I am worried.

  18. Thanks Gemzone — great to see the crowd reaction to David.

Last night I posted a Vimeo video from Wanda that Janey informed me of – but I did not post here. I have the link on Becky’s article page on FOD – fansofdavid, and Rae also has a link to video made by someone from the stands – just a snippet – but with this video you hear David’s voice resonating in the ball park and see people in the stands respectfully listening.

Tinuviel thought that David put a “pop” spin to GBA – what do you think??

    Wishing you well MCL!

reattempt for links to my #17 comment – sorry if this ends up being a duplicate – you know by now that’s what I do.

  20. Hey everyone:

My modem crashed and so I am without Internet access at least until the end of the week. I am accessing my site from my daughter’s computer.

I will review David’s performance of God Bless America once my computer is running again. It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so I have a turkey that needs attention.

Almost time for the debate…..rock on OBAMA!!

  30. Hi everyone:

I just listened to David’s version of “God Bless America” and was absolutely astounded by his performance. He has such a confident, centered vocal sound and this aspect, coupled with his liberated soulful style, made this performance truly stellar.

He must have perfect pitch or, perhaps, absolute pitch. It’s hard to say. Whatever pitch he has, it is truly remarkable and the clarity of his voice, as he spins those runs and turns, is so consistent. There is no clutter in David’s vocal timbre – his voice is extremely transparent.

You can feel the spiritual energy emanating from his soul, once again highlighting David’s personal mission to communicate the lyrics with honesty and integrity. Just beautiful!

I also listend to the snippets of his new songs and have to say that I like both of them, However, I LOVE “Touch My Hands” – you can hear the depth of David’s voice in this song, especially when he enters his baritone range. His voice is so rich and robust – such a contrast from his upper “head voice” range.

In fairness, it is difficult to pass judgement on these songs until one hears the entire track(s), but, I have no doubt that many songs will emerge as Number One hits from this CD.

  31. Wow MCL! It’s great to read your review and I loved and agree with everything you said, but there is one thing you said which really hit home for me. It’s that David’s voice is “extremely transparent”. That was one of my first thoughts from the first time I heard David sing, how utterly transparent his voice is, that you can hear “into” his voice, man what an astounding instrument! It is what I find so mesmerizing about David’s voice, the amazing clarity and purity, just awesome!

  32. MCL…I’m so glad you’re back. I missed you and your commentary!

I loved the confidence David showed in GBA. Millions watching and he looked cool as a cucumber. It was truly beautiful, wasn’t it?

David blogged tonight that he’s finished recording. I can’t get either one of the “hand” songs out of my head. What a remarkable performer. How many more days until the 11th?

  33. Good news travels fast! Awaiting your comments MCL…the newest leak…A Little Too Not Over You…

  34. Adding to what Janey said, after you’ve listened, check ASCAP to see who wrote the song.

  35. Hi MCL
Pretty exciting stuff going on with David, don’t ya think? Hope your weekend is going well!

  36. When SonicEther and sfronald get together…good things happen…

I will be meeting up with sfronald in Sacramento at the Jingle Balls concert on Dec. 3. We were lucky enough to get seats in the same row. The creativity inspired by David is incredible!
