David Archuleta’s “Crush” Debuts At #2 On The Billboard Charts.

Well, David Archuleta has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with! According to Billboard.Com, the 17-year-old Archuleta’s “Crush” has debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100 singles chart.

This is huge and here’s why – although many may know the story already.

According to EOnline.Com,

“Crush” is the biggest bow by an Idol contestant for a song never performed on the show.

What a phenomenal achievement for this talented young man.

So many of his performances, if not all, during his tenure with American Idol were extremely memorable, performed with a sophisticated yet sensitive artistic style never before witnessed on this show.

So this latest accomplishment comes as no surprise to this writer, although David would be the first to thank his dedicated and supportive fanbase for helping him to achieve and enjoy this level of success at this stage in his career.

Bravo and congratulations to David, his family, friends and fanbase.

  1. MCL, I couldn’t agree with you more. David would be the first to thank his fans for his amazing success with Crush. And isn’t that one of his many traits that grabbed our attention in the early days of AI7? David including others in his success? Remember after Imagine when David clapped for his fellow contestants after Simon proclaiming “there are 19 miserable people here”?

There is no more deserving artist than this young man.

  2. Thank you MCL for this posting! David has already made that indelible mark on the music world – and he is just getting started!

Thank You Janey79 for recalling that “so David” moment when he first glanced up at the men on the staircase and then over to the ladies in the “dawg pound” and clapped and said you guys are awesome – or to that effect.
Thinking of the other contestants and not wanting to outshine them or have them feel bad took priority over allowing himself to enjoy the glory of his own performance and the glowing judge reviews.

That was the most defining moment for me – even over the stellar performance of the song. This is what “was so great about Imagine”.

When he was on XM radio and the music director said to the listeners to vote Crush to the number one slot – David says, awe that’s not important, I just hope they like the song! (ah, Yeah we do – number 2 debut!)

It is not just about the music – it is about the man behind the music.

  3. GAH! Hey MCL! Hey ArchieFanDoc! What sweet words about David…I think that’s what makes him so crazy-special. He’s just not like any other 17 year old “kid” out there. He’s exceptional in so many ways. He’s not perfect and I cringe when people say he is, but he’s different and special.

This is all so exciting I have a hard time containing myself!

MCL is THE BEST! What a champion! I’m still so glad you got to meet him!

  4. Why is my font all bold and wonky in the comments section? WordPress must be doing some upgrades or else someone “messed up” the Andreas theme.

Anyway – I am so pumped for my little Archie. SOOOOOO PUMPED. And Becky, thank you for your support and your encouragement. The FansOFDavid.Com staff are the best and you have been as much of a champion of MCL as you have been for David. I am so grateful to all of you and, the opportunity to meet David was so special. I will always hold this occasion close to my heart.

It has been such a wonderful ride and it will only continue to be ever so glorious as we watch David grow – physically and artistically. Can you imagine? He is only going to get better and he is presently such an astounding artist. Wow!

And Janey and ArchieFan – thanks for your support and for promoting David in such a powerful manner.

Oh my – this is a great day, the end of a great week and more to come. So much more!
