Viewers beware! Are you ready for yet another singing competition?
It doesn’t matter because The Voice, along with its all-star panel of judges, including Christina Aguilera and Maroon Five’s Adam Levine, is set to take the nation by storm.
So, tonight some more singers hit the airwaves via NBC’s The Voice and, frankly, I am looking forward to this diversion from American Idol. Nothing like a little healthy competition to keep the producers and music executives on their delicate little toes.
However, this is not a copycat version of American Idol. The process is entirely different in that the judges base their first impression of each singer via their voice.
In other words, they cannot see the singer. It really is a neat concept but, come on, we know that appearance is part of the package so who are they kidding?
In the short promo that was aired last week, all the singers were visually marketable. Maybe they will throw in a Susan Boyle clone. She has proven that one doesn’t need to be a pretty young thing to outsell Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
Are you ready to watch the fun tonight or is American Idol enough for you? Do you think The Voice will be a success?
What time will The Voice air?

This looked interesting – hope it works out well
– not only do the judges/mentors choose the signer without seeing them, but if there is more than one – then the singer gets to choose who they want to work with (a nice twist)
– The judges then have to whittle down their own selections to provide the best 4 (I think) in their team for the live shows
– The judges can all sing and perform – the video of “crazy” was so good.

This was a bad night to debut the show. I watched “Dancing With the Stars” which featured both Constantine and later Pia. Both did a wonderful job and are so talented! In between segments, I turned in “Glee” and got a general idea of the plot. I did pop in a few times to watch “The Voice” but I think I’ll wait until after DWTS ends before giving it more of my time. Next month “So You Think You Can Dance” starts.
Oh, on Sunday and Thursday nights, Randy Jackson has his, “America;s best dance crew! LOL! In the end, it is “American Idol” that I love the best!

I watched the voice and loved it!! I think it is about time that talent should be the forefront of winning. Haven’t watched Idol since David Archuleta.
