MasterClass Monday: Kelly Clarkson Dazzles With Whole Lotta Woman From Her New CD - Meaning Of Life

There is no one quite like Kelly Clarkson, is there?  The Original American Idol rose to stardom and never ceased control of her own special. brand of music. She is not only a brilliant vocalist but also, she is a passionate and charismatic singer with an engaging personality.  So relatable to so many.

She can vocally navigate any genre of music, even classical Broadway tunes as evidenced by her live performance ” All I Ask Of You” from Phantom Of The Opera, featured below:

Isn’t this beautiful?  I mean truly?  Her head voice is simply glorious and free, which gives ample evidence why she is able to sing with such clarity throughout her singing and dynamic range.  It is central to her singing, regardless of style.  This high level of diversity is why she won American Idol in the first place and singers who wish to follow in her footsteps should take heed. There is no better role model.

She embodies the perfect recipe for singing success – impeccable style mixed with vocal substance.  Her confident grasp of the merchanics of vocal projection combined with her musicality and familiarity with all genres of music, has allowed her to explore many avenues of musical opportunities – from pop to country to jazz to big band to rhythm and blues.

It is the latter genre which encompasses her latest new single, “Whole Lotta Woman”, from her brand new album, Meaning Of Life. This song showcases her inherent grasp of her soulful side. Her voice is transcendent and spins and circles the melody with aplomb and confidence.  What a master of vocal excellence!

Also, kudos to the producers of this song, the arrangers, the backup singers and instrumentalists.  What a meeting of the minds. Musical perfection and I am not using this term loosely. Have a listen below and you tell me if I am exaggerating.

Kelly’s Meaning Of Life CD featuring her new single “Whole Lotta Woman” can be streamed on multiple streaming sites such as Spotify and Apple Music or you can, of course, download the CD on iTunes Music

You can also treat yourself to everything Kelly Clarkson by listening to her many hits over the years on iTunes or Apple Music

I included two videos of her new single, “Whole Lotta Woman“, one from the Nashville Sessions and the other from her recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon

And she will be appearing on the American Music Awards on ABC on November 19th.  Looks like Kelly is ubiquitous this season and that is a very good thing.

  2. I have to say I was not impressed either…… Some songs I was okay with, some not so much….. And there are others like Kelly out there that can sing it all, and I mean any genre….. Kelly was the first American Idol winner yes, but others have went on to prove to be more successful.. We simply cannot forget Carrie Underwood here, she has done all the genres. She has one of the most angelic head voices out there and one of the most powerful voices…. She is the Whitney Houston of Country music and an 8 time Grammy Award winner.

American Idol gave us some great great singers, some that never had a big chance to impact the charts but are out there and doing what they love to do……

Masterclasslady, I hope you tune into the CMA Awards tomorrow evening and watch Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley host the show for their 10th year. They are going to be honoring the Las Vegas Shooting Victims….. From what Mr Paisley said Carrie’s performance will be the highlight of the show and will be unbelievable…. Knowing Carrie, it will be grand…… She never never disappoints…….
