This just in from CNN:
“(CNN)Ariana Grande has called on her celebrity friends to join forces with her for a benefit concert honoring the victims and families of the Manchester terrorist attack.
“One Love Manchester” will take place on June 4 at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. Coldplay, Katy Perry, Pharrell, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan and Take That will also take the stage.
The concert will raise money for those affected by the suicide bombing that took place following Grande’s concert last week.
All proceeds from the show will go towards the “We Love Manchester Emergency Fund,” in partnership with the British Red Cross and Manchester City Council, according to a press release obtained by CNN.
Tickets for the event go on sale June 1 via Ticketmaster.”
i felt that Ariana Grande would eventually reach out to the people of Manchester, but this is a generously espedient gesture. I am sure she was equally traumatized by this tragic event which, of course, occured at the end of her concert in Manchester on Monday, May 22nd 2017.
So, kudos to her and all the artists for embracing and providing support a week after this senseless tragedy. This speaks to the courageous focus her team has displayed and their immediate response is to be admired and applauded.
It also reaffirms my belief that, oftentimes, one has a greater purpose than what we envision for ourselves. Here she is – a young star, with a bright career and, now, through this evil attack, a crusader for democratic benevolence and strength.
No matter where her career does takes her in the future, from here on in, she will always be associated with her adoption of the greater good.
Kudos Ariana Grande and Friends.
