Yes Virginia – there is a co-host for Kelly Ripa. And he be the one and only Ryan Seacrest.
Well, phew! I thought Ryan Seacrest would never find a job, poor guy. After the demise of American Idol in 2916 (wink, wink), I thought my poor Ryan would be floundering looking for a job, but – look at that – he found one. Another one. One of many, many jobs. This guy doesn’t know how to enjoy down time, does he?
Or maybe, this is his way to unwind. A diverse work environment does make the world go round, I suppose. Especially in the entertainment world. And he is one of the best and, therefore, in popular demand.
But, he beat out Anderson Cooper. Kelly”s bestie. I would have tuned in just to hear Anderson giggle because, in today’s political climate, he has little opportunity to do so on AC 360.
But, Kelly probably had very little say in it. This is all about Ryan and his career. I am sure the television bigwigs are all a dither with the prospect of catapulting Ryan to super, super stardom via yet another new TV venture. And on the Disney owned ABC network to boot. Oh the possibilities!
And if American Idol makes a return in some shape or form, will it be on ABC or the scandalous Fox network? And how would this impact Ryan Seacrest? Will Fox even be a network by then?
Who knows the answers to these mystifying questions! Until then, we can now rest at night knowing that Kelly has a co-host. I think it should make for an interesting combo, n’est-ce pas?

People magazine just posted an on-line article saying that ABC is working on a deal to bring back American Idol next spring. I am now seeing the connection of hiring Ryan Sechrist for the ABC Live with Kelly ( and Ryan) show. That could be great news. They need to compete against The Voice on NBC, right?
