Oh! My! Goodness! If this isn ‘t the best thing I have heard in a long time, then I don’t know what is!
Immortal Aria, a mother – son musical team on Facebook- shared this gem of a number performed by the talented Adam Lambert when he was 22-years-old.
Listen – I have heard this classic musical theatre song performed countless number of times in my musical career. However, none can surpass the immaculate, exquisite, perfect interpretation of this number as mastered by the mega – talented Adam Lambert.
When I wasn’t being transported to another dimension by the evenness and purity of his crystalline head voice, I was blown away upon hearing Adam’s phenomenal approach to his phrasing. And his musical ingenuity. And his ability to take artistic risks with confident technical skills.
My favorite sections of this song occurred between 2:03-2:12 and 3:23- 3:36 in the audio timeline. The sustained vocal and breath control he exhibits during these special moments in this spectacular song are truly inspiring.
It demonstrates that head voice rules in every vocal genre – something which I have stressed time and again in my Vocal MasterClass articles. Without it, the voice lacks transparency, refinement, evenness and coherent intonation.
Have a listen and be amazed. Adam is truly one of American Idol’s greatest discoveries and this song pretty much sums up this very fact .
Bravo Adam. No critique from me today! This is a “must-listen”, especially for singers. Take 4 minutes out of your Monday and go for a special musical ride with Adam Lambert. This is one MasterClass Monday you don’t want to miss.
Wow! That was so beautiful…how I would love to see him perform in a musical! His voice is pure magic!

I think there are still many people who are unaware of all that Adam is capable of. He can literally sing anything and sound amazing. All to often, they dismiss him because he became well known via American Idol. They feel he has not paid his dues. Unfortunately, they don’t realize he was performing in nightclubs and musicals, etc.well before he appeared on Idol. He’s paid his dues and it’s time he be recognized as a true professional, talent and artist.

The Brigadoon song is the one I yank out when someone is not familiar with Adam and his voice. I love him and will support by purchasing anything he puts out, but the electronic/dance/over-produced albums he has put out I don’t think showcase his voice.
My favorite CD is “Glam Nation Live” because it’s LIVE. That is how Adam needs to be experienced. He has incredible instincts and every time he sings a song it’s different and yet amazing. He is so multi-talented too. The choreography/dancing on his current tour is fantastic. He’s funny, he’s creative, he’s sexy as hell…endlessly entertaining.

I have listened to this many times, and I go back always when I need cheering up. Adam Lambert
is such a pride of our time. He is so humble, down to earth. Listen also to his rendition of ” I just love you” a cover original (John Ondrasik, Five for Fighting) for skater Nick Laroche. I wish no haters, please. Let us sit back and enjoy.

He certainly is amazing. Anyone know what that note he sustains at 3:23 is?

It is so true…..you can’t just listen to one song Adam performs…..you need to experience him live…..there is no one like him. I admit I don’t love pop music but no one would listen to him if he sang all these great classic songs instead of the pop music he currently sings. Thank goodness we have his great work with Queen to enjoy. He is one of a kind. Listen to many performances by this brilliant artist.
