Last week, Southern Cook Shelley was eliminated from MasterChef Season 8.  It was unfortunate because the dish she was tasked to create was a Southern dish – Fried Chicken and Waffles – and it was right in her wheel house.  I think knowing this created mental turmoil for her.  She wanted to prove her finesse as a Southern cook and, in the end, it added pressure to what should have been a walk in the park for her.  It happens, unfortunately.  She over thought the process. Too bad!

However, she gave the best send-off speech ever!  So inspiring and so appreciative of her experience on MasterChef. Kudos to her!  We will watch her career explode post-MasterChef.  With her positive attitude and determination, she deserves to succeed

This week, the  cooks split into teams to prepare vegetarian meals; then the pressure test has the cooks creating meals composed of cuts from an animal’s head.

Hmmm but which head from which animal?

Tune in to  the  Top 8 MasterChef competition when it airs on Wednesday, August 12th at 8:00 PM on Fox to find out.
