Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli. When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was hired as a piano accompanist for several musical companies, most notably, the National Ballet Of Canada. She presently holds an A.R.C.T. Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler. 1. I have to say … I’m pretty excited by these song choices … especially if these “make them their own.”

Rayvon Owen – Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears – per Harry’s advice … if he can get a hold of the lyrics and sell them with heart it could be good.

Adanna Duru – I Hate Myself for Loving You by Joan Jett – Repetitive song, but she does have the energy and the strut … unless she turns it into a bitter ballad.

Maddie Walker – Every Rose Has It’s Thorn by Poison – I hope she is doing something with this.

Daniel Seavey – You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oats – Age appropriate … I think.

Tyanna Jones – I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston – Keeping my finger crossed. She can do this if she ‘s not off.

Jax – You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi – No way she is copying the original, at least I hope not.

Clark Beckham – Every Breath You Take by The Police – Yes! I love the Police. I just hope he doesn’t catch crap if he makes it too sweet like Alex last year. (What has happened to Alex, BTW?)

Nick Fradiani – Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson – OK. I know he can’t do the original, so I’m hoping this is a break-out arrangement for him. Go my Shoreline Boy!

Joey Cook – Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper – This is perfect for her. I was thinking Cyndi Lauper last week. I have no doubt she’ll make it her own.

Qaasim Middleton – Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer – I don’t think this is too demanding on the voice, but it has lots of edge and punch. Think he’ll do the sexy girl back up band thing?

Quentin Alexander – In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins – I love this song. It’s already haunting. Should be right up his alley. I hope he can stay in tune.

  2. You know, looking at this list and thinking about song choices over the season so far…the one thing that struck me was that out of all the contestants, Joey seems to have the firmest grasp of who she is as an artist. Not everyone is going to like who she is, but she knows herself, musically–and that means she can stretch (as she did last week) without overbalancing herself.

  3. jessica, you said: “(What has happened to Alex, BTW?)”. i followed him on twitter (i unfollowed in the last week or two). he seemed to be active, singing, and singing with friends. that probably doesn’t tell you a lot, as i write this. my thought was, he seemed happy enough doing his alex thing.
