Well, Adam Lambert Fans!! This is your week! The former American Idol finalist takes a long overdue seat at that Judges’ Table to share his advice and insight in his role as mentor and judge to prospective contestants of American Idol Season 14.

How did this happen?

Well, unfortunately, during the New York auditions, Keith Urban had to take an immediate leave from the tapings to support his wife, Nicole Kidman, whose father passed away suddenly.

Enter Adam and the squealing of Glamberts worldwide.

Adam lends a strong and unique perspective to this audition process simply because he was once in the same shoes as these Season 14 hopefuls.

Below, you will find a teaser from this week’s show, highlighting Adam auditioning with “Bohemian Rhapsody” for fellow judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. You can also catch a quick glimpse of his intelligent interaction with the singers. It is going to be a great episode.

I thought last week’s episodes were very good and I was happy to see American Idol using the services of pianist/arranger/vocal coach Michael Orland during the auditions. This added a level of authenticity to the auditions because, in reality, singers usually audition with a piano accompanist. Smart move.

American Idol airs on Fox at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14th and Thursday, January 15th.

About Masterclass Lady

Rosanne (Giallonardo) Simunovic began her musical career in Timmins, Ontario. She studied piano with Anne Pizzale and later, at an advanced level, with Soeur Anita Vaugeois (Sister Cecile of Les Soeurs De L’Assomption in Timmins). Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli. When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was hired as a piano accompanist for several musical companies, most notably, the National Ballet Of Canada. She presently holds an A.R.C.T. Teacher’s Diploma in Voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler. She has been a founding member of numerous community-based arts organizations: the Timmins Arts Council, later known as Arts & Culture Timmins, the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, and, the Timmins Youth Singers…as well as the TYS Alumnus choir, the Timmins Concert Singers. In 1987, she was also selected to be the conductor of the Timmins Board Of Education Choir, comprised of talented students from Grades 5 to 8. In 1988, she was elected to the Board Of Directors of the Ontario Choral Federation (now known as Choirs Ontario), where she served as Chair of the Festivals Committee for six consecutive seasons. In 1996, in honour of the Ontario Choral Federation’s 25th Anniversary, Rosanne was selected as one of 25 recipients of the OCF’s Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contribution to the choral art. The ceremony was presided by Lieutenant Governor, Hal Jackman. In November 1997, Rosanne Simunovic was selected by the Rotary Club Of Timmins to receive the prestigious Paul Harris Award for her years of dedication to the artistic development of young musical talent in Timmins. In August of 2002, Rosanne Simunovic was selected by the Board Of Directors of Choirs Ontario to serve as Conductor of both the Provincial Junior and Teen Choir Camps, now renamed in honour of the Camp Benefactors, Don and Lillian Wright. In November 2002, Rosanne was the one of the recipients of the Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, honouring her work in the development of the arts in Timmins. Under Rosanne Simunovic’s direction, the Timmins Youth Singers and the Timmins Concert Singers have been featured in numerous choral festivals and performing opportunities outside of Timmins.     Too cute (as always)!!! Wow, I’ll have to watch this year, just to get me some Adam time since I was unable to make any of the Queen concerts. Yay!!!! I know I haven’t said much in a while but I have been reading. Thanks for all you, MCL!!

This added a level of authenticity to the auditions because, in reality, singers usually audition with a piano accompanist.” i didn’t know this, and i wondered if they were making it easier for the singers and i wasn’t sure i liked it. sooo, i’m glad to know that this is sop (standard operating procedure).

    i get audio books from the library and listen to them while i’m in the kitchen. i recently got j lo’s book. at first i wasn’t sure about it, but i ended up liking it. i got insight into her feelings about idol (she LOVES the backstage idol family). she really shows us that she’s an ordinary person like we are regarding feelings, insecurities, and things like that.

    wow, ‘hollywood’ anderson!!! absolutely amazing! and jennifer’s response to him, when he is finished, it is like she is a fan girl at a concert! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG-n3PXg3ZE i loved this. i also liked the guy who sang keith’s song in the episode the day before. (i finally watched these yesterday, i’m so glad i didn’t skip them.)

    i forgot to mention…’hollywood’ anderson sang his own. song. i kept playing and replaying this on my television and find it amazing that it is a song i don’t know.

    I really enjoyed Hollywood Anderson too. J Lo said she would like to record his song but would rather hear his version of it. Wouldn’t it be neat if a well established artist included one track from an unknown artist on one of their albums. Talk about exposure.

    I don’t have my notes right now so some (most) of the names elude me but the blind country singer from Phoenix City, AL was good and had an interesting personality. He was very friendly and quitely confident. He said he had no stage fright because he can’t see the audience. His singing style reminded me of Ronny Millsap from many decades ago.

    The FDNY firefighter’s daughter that played piano and sang “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was interesting. She has the artistry to flip songs to her own style which is a proven quality to take you to the top.

    The guy who was back for his fourth year to audition, and asked how he could improve himself in the future, was one of those unexplainable eliminations last year and still sounded good this year.

    It should be a pretty broad based top 24. It remains to be seen how many of these folks can sing more than one song and can do so before a live audience.

    I’m still waiting to see one contestant that I can’t wait to see week after week.
