Performing Masterclass For America’s Got Talent Season 9: The Quarter – Finals Group Three

Last week’s show showcased many exceptional performances and I am happy with some of the acts voted through to the semi-finals.

That being said, I feel singer Jacob Curlee is as sweet as pie but he is one of the weakest singers I have ever seen on these shows. His voice is expressionless – no dynamic range whatsoever. I hope the vocal coaches get their hands on him ASAP and equip him with some seriously technical skills.

I was torn over the judges’ decisions to “save” singer Mara Justine. She seems awfully fragile and just not ready for the stressful environment surrounding this show. She is a phenomenal vocalist but her emotional maturity needs to develop. I cannot watch children cope under this kind of stress.

However, that being said, she rose to the occasion and have an exceptional performance.

This week’s lineup of talent is very strong so we are once again in for two hours of top-notch entertainment.

America’s Got Talent airs at 9:00 PM on NBC on Tuesday, August 12th, followed by the Results Show at 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 13th.

Comments are now open for business.

  1. I haven’t watched the show for weeks, but caught it on 8/12. I was wondering what you thought of the reappearance of went liebman as a comic on the show. I remember her from the 80s and 90s being a very successful comedian who appeared on Johnny Carson, David letterman, and had a showtime special. Is she really an undiscovered talent that deserves to win? Or has she already had her chance?

  4. Musicka – I had no idea she had a history of past success. Hmmm. Oh well, she would not be the first one on these shows. I do not think she will make it to the semi finals. The show was very strong last evening. She is funny though.
