Some Mondays are worse than others. And this is a heartwrenching, devastating Monday with the untimely death of the great Robin Williams..
With this news, the Hollywood world is in turmoil – the restaurants are surrounded by an eerie silence as mourners express their inward grief over this news.
I am sure this shock has reached every recess and crevice of the world – he was so loved and so respected at his craft.
Apparently, Robin Williams was battling severe depression and the press is reporting that his death is the result of an apparent suicide.
His wife, Susan Schneider, released this statement:
“This morning I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings,” she said in the statement. “On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope that the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laugher he gave to millions.”
And, so we should focus on the laughter Robin brought into our lives, while sending our heartfelt condolences to his wife, his family and friends.
R.I.P. Robin. You have left a legacy of love and laughter that we shall cherish forever.
Poignantly written, MCL. Thank you. Dead Poet’s Society is one of my favorite all-time films. Along with Awakenings. He really was a versatile actor. Mental illnesss-we must be compassionate and aware.
