Countertenor Mikah Meyer Paving His Unique Road To Superstardom

It’s always exciting to discover new talent. And Countertenor, Mikah Meyer, was enthusiastically brought to my attention via one of my former students, the very talented, Kyle Scripnick.  Mikah and Kyle happen to be colleagues at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.

Why all the excitement, you may ask? Well, first, Mikah is excellent at this very specialized vocal craft and, more important, he lends a contemporary flavor to this unique vocal sound.  Although the majority of men can vocalize to a certain extent in the mezzo soprano range, not everyone can do so with the extraordinary vocal gifts that Mikah has inherited and cultivated.

That being said,  I am happy to say that Mikah is one of 20 Finalists from Memphis selected for the new season of “Glee”

The Fox Memphis website has a video interview with all the Top 20,  plus there is an opportunity to vote for your favorite.  Only one winner will be chosen and the voting deadline is  9:00am CDT April 19, 2010.

This week, I will be featuring an interview with Mikah, so please stay tuned.  In the meantime, hurry and vote for him now!

You do have to log on to vote but, after doing so, you can vote to your heart’s content.  Also, for all the latest news, visit Mikah’s website MikahMeyer.Com
