Remember my man, John Stevens, from American Idol Season 3? Oh my how I loved this kid and his retro style and substance.
Well, guess what? He is back and all grown up and, after watching this video below, I love him even more.
And, his hair is still red! Always loved the red hair – it sets him apart from the rest of the pack.
This guy can really sing. His voice is immediately identifiable and his style is truly his own. Very shy, charming and endearing – almost playful.
“Intoxicated” was written by John Stevens and it is a catchy, toe-tapping, “put a smile on your face” kind of song that resonates long after the song is over.
In addition, John has surrounded himself with a stellar orchestra – The John Stevens Band – which signifies to me that this young man means business. He is ready to take the world by storm with his signature brand of music.
After he completed his American Idol journey, he packed up his bags and headed for Boston where he attended the Berklee School of Music and, in time, joined the Beantown Orchestra.
Smart move! Berklee is a mighty fine school and John was wise to strengthen his musical and vocal skills before branching out into the music industry.
Now, 10 years after his original American Idol audition, John’s ready to make an impact in the music industry and I have to say he is off to a mighty fine start.
Congratulations John! We are rooting for you all the way!
that was nice. thanks for the update on him. i like that ‘his’ band has young good looking guys, rather than old fogies. not that old fogies are bad, this is just more contemporary. i’m glad that he studied as he did.

My pleasure to add this. I am tickled pink that John is back on the music scene. I have been waiting and waiting and waiting and hoping that he never gave up on his dream. And he didn’t! Just worked really hard! That’s what it takes. Hard work builds confidence.

I liked him as a much younger lad when he was in competition. So glad to see him in the ‘where are they now’ segment of your notes 🙂

I never watched Season 3, but have been familiar with John. Man, he sure has a smooth, stellar voice! Isn’t John the one Simon said reminded him of a pencil salesman? Crazy Simon! Where does he come up with this stuff?
