Sick MasterclassLady here. So I shall keep it short and sweet. Not to worry. Just a stomach virus that refuses to quit.

I am in a water/Gatorade haze and have no idea what happened last week. Maybe Blake up there in the picture can help?

Have fun watching the show. I’ll be right there with you!

Comment away!! Who do you think has the strongest team? Do you have any favorite singers?

Rosanne (Giallonardo) Simunovic began her musical career in Timmins, Ontario. She studied piano with Anne Pizzale and later, at an advanced level, with Soeur Anita Vaugeois (Sister Cecile of Les Soeurs De L’Assomption in Timmins). Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli. When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was hired as a piano accompanist for several musical companies, most notably, the National Ballet Of Canada. She presently holds an A.R.C.T. Teacher’s Diploma in Voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler. She has been a founding member of numerous community-based arts organizations: the Timmins Arts Council, later known as Arts & Culture Timmins, the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, and, the Timmins Youth Singers…as well as the TYS Alumnus choir, the Timmins Concert Singers. 2. Vonnie -I agree. They are also long-winded. Almost a 15 minute intro into each battle. To be honest, I’ll be flipping channels too in between flu naps here.

  4. i was not happy that ‘midas well’ and the ‘family guy with the dreads’ were put against each other. i wanted both of them, BADLY. their battle wasn’t that good, they all sounded the same all the way through, however i really really like them both. i wish ‘family guy’ would have been stolen, but no. 😦 it was kind of cute that adam said, ‘could i have a trio’?

  6. one of the things i’ve noticed, they’re sometimes putting really good people against really good people…like i would have a hard time choosing. although i’m not happy seeing some of them go, this bodes well that they aren’t putting a ‘loser’ vs a ‘winner’ which leads to boring competition.

  8. Hunter,
Those three acts were my favorites from the blinds as well. I agree that the song Adam chose for the battle round between Midas Whale and Beale Street / Dread Head guy didn’t serve either of them well and I was also sorry to see Beale Street / Dread Head Guy eliminated. His voice and style remind me of Michael Grimm who won AGT a few years ago. BTW, he has a cool duet of “You Don’t Know Me” with McKenna Medley who is the daughter of Bill Medley from the Righteous Brothers. It’s on his “Leave Your Hat On” CD.

Ryan Innis is my favorite of the lot so far, but we haven’t heard enough of him to know what he can do. He, Midas Whale and maybe the girl that auditioned with the one handed technique on her resonator guitar are the only “different” acts in the competition.

The manipulations are different this year. As you said, they are matching several singers against other good singers where you don’t want either of them to be cut but they have the steal now so all are not lost. The steals seem pre-planned though. Have you noticed that with some singers they don’t say they are available for the steal?

I noticed a girl who competed in one of the groups on the competition show for acapella groups, the “Sing-Off,” appeared briefly in one of the abbreviated blind auditions, and made it through, but I haven’t seen her since then.
