Happy Independence Day To My American Readers Courtesy Of Beyonce

Happy Independence Day to all! Wish I could be there to celebrate this momentous day but I am still recovering from all the Canada Day celebrations in my fair country. 🙂

I am pleased to present Beyonce’s phenomenal performance of The Star Spangled Banner. It is absolutely exceptional.

It was performed live at the Super Bowl in 2004. Boy, can this lady sing! And the charisma she possesses is undeniable.

I love how she escalates certain sections of the original melodic line via a broken chord pattern. It is so well done, very clean and precise.

In fact, her entire performance sounds so confident and free – just a pleasure to behold!

And, speaking of “free“, I loved the second note she added to that word as she sustained it. Beautiful, translucent head voice! Ah – she steals my heart! I am a “head voice fanatic.“.

Enjoy the video located above this article and here’s to an exciting, fun-filled, celebratory Independence Day.

Please feel free to share your favorite moments today or add your favorite versions of the Star Spangled Banner in the comments section.

OMG!! That was a amazing!! Its very very rare that a singers voice alone makes me cry but by the 2nd phrase that she sang …. I was ALL THE WAY there!! (Thats just not me) Incredible!! I have heard many singers sing our anthem that did great jobs on it … but for me … for me …this … was the best I’ve ever heard anyone sing it (and I’m not a big Beyonce fan”) !! As soon as I heard it I sent it out to my friends.

Thanks so much again for that little holiday treat.
