So You Think You Can Dance Top 3 Finalists: Kent, Lauren and Robert

Dancing Masterclass Discussion For So You Think You Can Dance Finale

Tonight is the Grand Finale for this season’s “So You Think You Can Dance” series.

I thought the majority of the performances were excellent last evening and I wish nothing but the very best for all three dancers.

Kent, Lauren and Robert displayed exceptional dancing skills but I am still on the Lauren bandwagon.

I agree with the judges: there is nothing that this young woman cannot do.  Her work ethic, charm , talent and charisma are a choreographer’s dream and  will carry her far in the entertainment industry.

The evolution of  “Robert” has been a joy to watch and his humble, endearing demeanor has quickly grown on me.

Kent is a natural ham and I can see him doing extremely well in musical theatre, especially if there is a comedic element ingrained in the plot line. This is where he excels, where Robert has a little more dimension in his approach.  He is a dramatic dancer.

I cannot wait to see Nigel’s  tap-dancing routine and am curious as to how they are going to re-create the Twitch/Alex Wong Hip – Hop routine.  I can’t imaging Alex Wong will be able to dance, but who knows with this show?

  1. How great is this win? I am so happy for Lauren. She truly is the best of the best!

  2. Rosanne,

Despite all the disappintments of this season, the injuries of Alex, Ashley, and the untimely departure of Billy, this has turned out to be a very enjoyable season!!! I voted for Kent in the end, and think he’s absolutely extraordinary, and has the sweetest personality to match!! I know Rosanne, that you said he was far from being your favorite, but I’ve been so moved by many of his performances this season. I am so excited for Lauren, though!!! How awesome for her! She is an absolutely gorgeous dancer. I have watched this show faithfully since season 3, and find it a joy, and seriously end up with a few tears in my eyes, kind of sad that another seanson has ended. I’m sad to hear of your heart attack, but glad you are doing better.

  3. Congratulations to Lauren! This little lady is an awesome dancer, and I wish her the best! I am glad Text Messaging was not a part of the decision.

I also enjoyed the finale and the dances selected. Robert grew on me as the season progressed, and he can be proud of his work. He was very impressive these last three weeks and completely deserved being on that stage this week. Kent could have been the winner; he’s that good! All three made this a great Finale, and I loved all three dancers.

I wish they would have allowed Lauren to change into a simple little outift. I didn’t like the jeans and cropped top with jacket. Just a little thing. Hehehe…

OK, I will admit I did miss Mary Murphy! I think Nigel would be wise to have two permanent Judges and a floating judge – anyone of the others, at any point in the show!

I wish the Season 6 dancers weren’t being neglected. I am not entirely thrilled with Russell’s dance skills. The others deserved to be on the tour.

Anita, Seasone 1 and 2 were so good, but didn’t have the variety of dances now shown on the show. I did like the finalists though. I have taped all the shows and it is fun to go back and watch the old shows!

Now what will Paula’s dance show start. Then there’s Randy Jackson’s Best American Dance Crew. More things to enetertain us!

  4. That certainly was not the ending I expected! Really, they had a lot of talent this year. I hope they all manage to find work in the future!

I saw this exchange on Twitter–apparently Alex is rooming with Billy in NYC now:

Billy_Bell @alexdwong how’s my apartment so jealous of you and @samanthamowen seeing fuerza!!!! Possibly my favorite show ever!!

alexdwong @Billy_Bell I’ve completely trashed your apartment and am in the process of tearing up your clothes and using them as dish rags

Billy_Bell In NYC yesssssss so happy right now!! Bring on @samanthamowen @alexdwong @laurenfrodie and some Asian food!!!

(I hope I used the right “quote” code!)

  5. (Apparently not. Sorry!)
