Tonight On NBC:  Keep The Festive Spirit Alive With Michael Buble And Tony Bennett Featuring Billy Joel.

Michael Buble, Tony BennettDid you enjoy the America’s Got Talent Holiday Spectacular last night on NBC?

If so, NBC has you covered tonight as well when both Michael Buble and Tony Bennett herald in the festive season with their own specials.  And, there will be a special appearance by Billy Joel during Tony Bennett’s special, who will perform “A New York State Of Mind” with Tony Bennett.  Wheeee!  Can’t wait.

Michael Buble’s Sing And Swing special airs at 8:00 PM. It is his 6th special with NBC and here is what you can expect:

“Watch Tuesday, December 20 at 8/7c. Michael Bublé is back with his sixth annual NBC special! In “Michael Bublé Sings and Swings,” Bublé sings fan favorite pop hits as well as jazz standards that he has perfected over his career. Taped before a live audience in Manchester, England, this special captures Bublé at his absolute best and is sure to delight audiences of all ages.”

This is a slight deviation from what we normally see from Michael at this time of year. Usually, he airs a Christmas special on NBC. However, his beautiful little son is currently undergoing treatment for liver cancer and he has, understandably , taken leave from his career until his son is well again. The prognosis for his son seems bright but, until a full cure is announced, please keep the Buble family in your prayers.

Following Michael Buble’s Show, NBC is airing Tony Bennett’s 2-hour extravaganza in celebration of his 90th Birthday. Wow. What a blessing to be able to perform at this age. He has been blessed with amazing genes and stellar health.

“This two-hour special at Radio City Music Hall celebrating beloved 19-time Grammy Award-winner Tony Bennett’s 90th birthday will feature tributes from the music industry’s most prominent artists, including Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, Elton John, Diana Krall, k.d. lang, Leslie Odom Jr., Rufus Wainwright and Stevie Wonder as well as a performance by Bennett. Also making appearances will be Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Robert De Niro, John McEnroe, Wynton Marsalis, Kevin Spacey and Bruce Willis. “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come” is executive produced by Danny Bennett, and TB TV, LLC will produce. Jerry Foley will direct, with production and lighting design by LeRoy Bennett.”

So pop some popcorn or continue wrapping those gifts and making those cookies. This is not the night to go shopping. Aren’t you done yet?  However, if you MUST go out, then DVR these shows. It will be wonderful  background music during the Christmas season.

And don’t forget to grab Michael’s new CD, Nobody But Me, on Apple Music and Tony’s CD, Tony Bennet Celebrates 90, on Apple Music.
