Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli.
When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler.

In 1988, she was elected to the Board Of Directors of the Ontario Choral Federation (now known as Choirs Ontario), where she served as Chair of the Festivals Committee for six consecutive seasons. In 1996, in honour of the Ontario Choral Federation’s 25th Anniversary, Rosanne was selected as one of 25 recipients of the OCF’s Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contribution to the choral art. The ceremony was presided by Lieutenant Governor, Hal Jackman.

How quickly I forgot that fan bases matter more than talent on AI because I was surprised at the eliminations tonight. I wouldn’t have predicted Janell Wheeler to leave ahead of Haeley, and I definitely didn’t expect Joe and Tyler to leave before Tim and Alex. Unfortunately, last night after Joe spoke in Spanish to his relatives in Mexico, I mentioned to my husband that I hoped that wouldn’t be a turn off to many Americans. And then there’s Tyler . . . I was hoping he would do better because he’s a Pennsylvania boy, but I didn’t think much of his comment about not getting constructive criticism from the judges–not a very classy way to leave AI.

I thought Joe was one of the more consistent vocalists last night, but unfortunately, his lack of prior exposure worked against him. I agree with Ashley’s elimination—poor song choice and average delivery. I understand Janell’s elimination, but I liked her early promise and really wished she had another chance to live up to it. Tyler’s elimination is puzzling, considering his screentime and the number of male contestants who were shakier.

I agree with the girls’ eliminations but TBH, I think America could’ve made a better choice with at least one of the guys. I think Jermaine or Todrick deserved to go since they were the worst this week.

I am so sad…Haeley is going to be the Sanjya, Chicken little (can’t remember that kids name) of this year ~ Good people are going to go home in her place! Sad!

Vonnie, I am also fearful that Haeley will drag on as did Kevin. I just couldn’t figure that one out. At least Sanjaya served up some humor and excitement. LOL.
I am sad that Tyler got sent home because I was looking forward to what he purchased at the Mall. I laughed so hard when he showed up for rehearsal in the white bath robe. He thought wardrobe would provide the clothes. At least there would have been some fun! No, he wasn’t that good of a singer, but there were worse that stayed.
Ellen’s comments about Tyler lacking charisma and honesty in his performance hurt him, IMO. He was really hurt by that comment.
Louise, I thought the same eact thing you did about Joe. Yet, I thought the Spanish speaking people would send along some votes for him. Poor kid didn’t have a chance.
Ashley wasn’t a surprise. I detected a bit of an attitude. I didn’t think Janelle would be TOP 12 but it did surprise me that she went instead of Haeley or Lacey. Well, this gives both girls a second chance.
I hope there is better song chocie and better judging next week!

There was an 8.3 magnitude earthquake in Chile around 3:30 AM EST, and Elliott, who is still there, was tweeting about it.
Prayers for all in Chile. Hopefully, Elliott will get out of there soon.

I have to say that I wasn’t TOO surprised at who went home this week. I think Haeley should’ve gone home as well, and I admit that I actually kind of liked Ashley. Janell was unfortunately forgettable, which hurt her chances. As for the guys, it is a shame in a way that Joe went home so soon, however, he did not pick a song choice that made him stand out in any way. Song choice is EVERYTHING on Idol, and I could barely make out what he was saying throughout his performance, let alone recall it after the show. Too bad for him, really. As for Tyler, I am actually kind of glad he went home sooner rather than later. He had a good voice, but he simply refused to leave the 70s. American Idol is about finding a CONTEMPORARY recording artist, and Tyler just was not contemporary in any way. From his hair to his clothing to his song choices, he just wasn’t right for the competition, which is unfortunate, because he had a good voice.
To be honest, I REALLY missed Danny and Adam this week! I’ll never forget this time last season where Danny Gokey blew everyone away with “Hero”! It was so apparent who my favorite would be that year! And Adam at least made things interesting each week. Nobody has really jumped out at me yet, except for maybe Aaron Kelly. He has an excellent voice and reminds me just a bit of Archuleta. Kind of a country-ish version of David. I also loved his song choice of Rascal Flatt’s amazing song, “Here Comes Good-Bye”!
Katie Stevens is great too, but I wish she would perform songs that don’t make her seem so old. She could be another Kelly Clarkson if she picked the right songs. No joke.
Anyway, MCL, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss regarding your mother. God bless you and your family, and I will keep you all in my prayers. I am glad to know that at least your mother’s suffering is it and end now and she is finally at peace, with her mind fully restored. However, that does not make her loss any less difficult to bear, I am sure.

Kariann,
I just read an article indicating that Elliott had only packed enough insulin supplies to last until Sunday, and he hasn’t communicated on twitter in five hours.
