  4. Over all I agree it was underwhelming. I thought Addison and Chloe were decent. I didn’t like Brooke’s take on Amazing Grace.

I could have cut half of them tonight. All of the Twitter save group would have been gone to begin with. And then…

  5. I agree, I think they should have named someone the winner last night and just scrapped this season, cut their loss and moved on.

Blake is whole heartedly invested in Chloe and Keisha…which makes sense, he needs to prove he is more than a country artist, that he can work out side of that genre and produce a winner; with the hopes of landing an Emily on his team…where if she would have chosen Blake, I’m pretty sure she would still be there.

Maybe that’s what’s wrong with me this season; I was so excited to watch Emily each week, that her leaving has left me scrambling for a replacement. I didn’t like Chloe’s take on Call Me, at all. I would like to hear an Adele song from her to see what she can do with that -BLAKE SHELTON-

Also, keep Keisha moving out of the country lane, she has such a velvety tone, I could hear some Diana Ross in her voice; definitely should sing Missing You by Diana Ross or maybe a Skeeter Davis song -BLAKE SHELTON-

And finally, Red, sings the same song each week, just different words. Let’s brighten that boy up a little, as Gene said, “plop a cowboy hat on that melon” give him Thunder Rolls or Rodeo by Garth OR let’s try a Lynard song, Simple Man would be a good one -BLAKE SHELTON-

Next, Noah, sounds like The Police, and should definitely do Watching You or Lady in Red. Addison, I don’t know, she has that Indy vibe and I’m not sure what song I would give her, maybe a Megan Trainor song. I know Megan’s not Indy, but she’s fun.

Brooke and Devon, just a simple song without the acrobatics, something with a simple melody, that would not lend itself to so many glory notes.

    That’s all I got…

  7. I agree with the writer Idol Girl. There is no excuse for the way hey have treated The Voice Alumni.

I saw both Danielle and Phil Phillips perform on a recent awards show called CMT Artist of the Year. It aired a week or so before the CMA awards. She sang with Andra Day, Little Big Town and Lee Ann Womack. Phillip sang the song of an artist who was unable to attend the ceremony. The videos can be seen at CMT’s sight in the CMT
ARTISTS OF THE YEAR 2017 area.

  8. Blake’s post performance comments were pretty negative for Emily. He and Jennifer both said that she didn’t emote, or words to that effect. It was obviously a script because the comments didn’t square with her performance that night.

I had hoped Keisha would be able to pull off her transformation to country music but I think she would have been better off to stay in her own lane and tone it down. Because she has failed to meet her own goal after this many tries, I would put her on my cut list.

Hair-do has fallen from grace for me as well. I think he has talent and could do well but I fast forwarded through most of his last two performances.

I might leave Brooke just because she can sing if she wants to and I hope to hear more about her back story. No one seems to no anything about her or where she comes from!!!

You hit Red right on his shinny head. Same song different day. Have mercy!!!

I think the whole thing is down to Addison and Chloe. Send the rest home if you like. I’m ok with it.

Chloe sings songs that lend themselves to big performances plus, how to say, leather, RED leather, was a very good choice. The black leather was a good follow up.

Compare that with dumpy jeans, white Tee shirt and a Greek fisherman’s hat found on the set of Mod Squad and RED leather wins every time.

So while Addison is a better and more thoughtful singer and arranger, Chloe is a more showy performer.

    Chloe probably wins.

  9. I like your assessment of this group Gene; I do say, I agree wholeheartedly. I will jump on the Chloe/Addison bandwagon and say that I can see these two finishing at the top, with Red coming in third. Adam, Brooke or Keisha in fourth.

Yes, Chloe definitely out shines her competition, she has great insight into what and how she wants her performances to be. It’s just going to be song choice, from here on out, she needs a ballad, but it will have to be a goosebump performance. An Adele song would fit her well, Someone Like you or Hello; no dress, she should continue her Joan Jett persona. A tuxedo maybe🤔🙃

Red’s gotta have a breakout performance, something big, I still think Thunder Rolls or Rodeo, but then after that enough of Garth, maybe a Conway Twiity song, yeah, that would work, eh?

  10. Top 8 are going to be doing duets and the duets are going to be counted as votes this year. http://idolchatteryd.com/fair-or-not-here-come-the-top-8-duets/

  12. Would that be with the Twitty Birds or without?

I think Red should go strategic and knock Miley out with a heart felt rendition of “Achy Breaky Heart.” Now that’s music!

I’ll go along with Chloe in a tux if she stays with leather.

Addison can do what ever she likes as long as she loses the hat. Maybe Red will take it.

  13. Leather Tux? I like it! Alrighty then, Leather tux it is…

With on the Twitty Birds, definitely. I would even say yes to Achy Breaky Heart at this point; I think Wagon Wheel would be a good song for Red, something different…I dunno, I don’t have a very big catalog of country songs, unless he can do a Dwight Yoakam song, I pretty much got nothin’

So your thinking Chloe and Addison will cancel each other out and Red will take the golden microphone. I can see that happening, or Adam will sneak in steal the show!

So, are going to watch Idol? I’m undecided

  14. Idol Girl, I’m not sure why they continue to do the duets and have them count, after all they have to do duets in the beginning to make it past knock outs, you would think they wouldn’t have them do them again, I would rather they each sing an extra song.

Lol, it’s that flat spot again, I thought you meant the win, hahaha, the hat! Hahahaha 😂

  16. Yeah, “take the hat” is what I was trying to say there.

I liked some of the duets but you could easily be mismatched or forced into a song that doesn’t suit your style.
