Glad you are enjoying the show. I have been lurking in the comments section. Keep the chatter alive and point me in the direction of your favourite performers. As you all know, I am not a regular viewer of the program so, if there is any performer you feel I should feature, give me a heads up. I am sure I will get 11 different opinions. Hee hee.

I do remember Emily though. I LOVED HER. Why did she go home? Colour me confused.

Best of luck to all the singers. Use the platform post The Voice to jumpstart your career.

Enjoy the show everyone.

  1. My top three for this week are Addison, Noah, and Chloe.

  2. Addison, Chloe and Red for me.

I didn’t like Hairdo’s song too much. It didn’t hold my interest but he is a contender in my view. The way he looked, I expected him to have a pack of Lucy’s rolled up in his sleeve and sing “Great Balls of Fire”

  3. Based on previous comments, Vonnie must have sent in song choices for Red and Chloe.

  5. Okay, so I watched…I wasn’t jumping up and down for anyone really, I liked Red, mainly because he sounds so much like Garth, that you can’t go wrong singing his songs. I liked Chloe, she seemed a bit nervous, which made the song feel choppy, she sounded good though. Everyone else was just okay for me. I’m just really missing Emily in this competition, she should have picked Blake for her coach, she would still be there!

I must say, I was not expecting Janet (?) going home, I would have guessed Jennifer’s girl or Miley’s country girl (I really need to learn names).

  6. I liked Emily. I think she was planted on The Voice by the head of the label that she is signed to, fellow NBC show host, Ellen DeGeneres.

  7. Gene,

That’s interesting! I didn’t know Ellen has a label. Wonder why Adam didn’t keep her, she charted very well on iTunes and seemed to be a fan favorite. Was she only intended for an introduction and then pulled…curiouser and curiouser! 🤔

  8. Gee, one would think I reside under a rock! A little jaunt around google search, lead me to a video where Emily began her journey with Charlie Puth, who knew; obviously everyone except me! Yeah, I would definitely lean towards “planted” for Emily. Still very curious as to why Adam sent her home; maybe that minute of exposure was all that was needed. 🤔😲

  9. Vonnie (and MCL also ask about Emily)

That would be the way I think it would play out based on that theory, BUt, I’ve looked into it a little more and it may be Ellen’s label that she wasn’t happy with. My memory ……. duh… oh yeah, my memory of her introduction video said that she had been signed before but didn’t like the way they wanted her to change her style, both personal and musically. She apparently had some mental health struggles because of the conflict there. In an interview I saw on line, she spoke of depression and anxiety issues.

I also looked at her twitter feed and she was elated to have made it into the battle rounds and seemed to be ok with having been eliminated, cheering on her former team mates. She also mentioned that she had a Christmas special (?) that had sold out it’s first date and had scheduled a second date. I was unclear if this was an internet channel of some sort, a local appearance or the combination of both. Look her up on the web if you are interested.

She has a pretty active you tube presence which includes several duets. One of these was a cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” and also a cover of Lady Antebellum’s “Need you Now.” Her duet partner on these was a guy named Charlie Puth and the Adele tune video was credited as being how Ellen discovered her. She has a few Christmas standards there as well, “Oh Holly Night” and “White Christmas” I believe.

You will find the most you tube content by first going to you tube and then enter Emily Luther in their search box. Other methods return fewer results.

Interestingly, there are quite a few photos of her from what appears to be professional photo shoots and if she wants to shake the “nerd” image, as she refers to herself, some of these might do the trick!

  10. Gene, I follow Emily on Instagram, she seems to be doing really well post The Voice. So, she’s no longer on Ellen’s label? The guy that she sang with (Charlie Puth) is quite the sensation, not sure why she didn’t take off as well, however, she does seem to be more of a throwback artist. Sad she has had such a rough time, wishing her much success, I will certainly be watching and waiting for future album drops.

So who’s your pick for top three 🤔

  11. While listening to Christmas music this afternoon a song came on by K. Tuntsall…got my wheels turning; Chloe and Blake Shelton if you read here, Big Black Horse and The Cherry Tree, perfect song for Chloe! Oh, and the song that With Allison Kraus and that guy (that sings jingles with Peyton Mannining) about the guy who comes home from war, you know the one, great group song for you guys or a good one for Red.

  12. I have four in my top three. Addison, Chloe, Red and Noah. There may actually be a place in the industry for Addison and Noah. It seems like Red would have already made the leap to the big stage if it were going to happen for him. Chloe has been inconsistent.

At least three have remained in the competition longer than their performances would seem to warrant.

  13. I have Chloe, Red, Noah in my top three, just because I think Addison and Noah are going to battle for votes, however, I am not counting out Miley’s country girl.
