About Masterclass Lady
Rosanne (Giallonardo) Simunovic began her musical career in Timmins, Ontario. She studied piano with Anne Pizzale and later, at an advanced level, with Soeur Anita Vaugeois (Sister Cecile of Les Soeurs De L’Assomption in Timmins). Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli.
When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was hired as a piano accompanist for several musical companies, most notably, the National Ballet Of Canada. She presently holds an A.R.C.T. Teacher’s Diploma in Voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler.
She has been a founding member of numerous community-based arts organizations: the Timmins Arts Council, later known as Arts & Culture Timmins, the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, and, the Timmins Youth Singers…as well as the TYS Alumnus choir, the Timmins Concert Singers. In 1987, she was also selected to be the conductor of the Timmins Board Of Education Choir, comprised of talented students from Grades 5 to 8.
In 1988, she was elected to the Board Of Directors of the Ontario Choral Federation (now known as Choirs Ontario), where she served as Chair of the Festivals Committee for six consecutive seasons. In 1996, in honour of the Ontario Choral Federation’s 25th Anniversary, Rosanne was selected as one of 25 recipients of the OCF’s Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contribution to the choral art. The ceremony was presided by Lieutenant Governor, Hal Jackman.
In November 1997, Rosanne Simunovic was selected by the Rotary Club Of Timmins to receive the prestigious Paul Harris Award for her years of dedication to the artistic development of young musical talent in Timmins.
In August of 2002, Rosanne Simunovic was selected by the Board Of Directors of Choirs Ontario to serve as Conductor of both the Provincial Junior and Teen Choir Camps, now renamed in honour of the Camp Benefactors, Don and Lillian Wright.
In November 2002, Rosanne was the one of the recipients of the Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, honouring her work in the development of the arts in Timmins.

Just Wow! She completely mesmerized me, I would call her the winner of the Voice.

She WAS good Vonnie. She was one of the contestants that I have wanted to see again since the beginning. Her choice of a Pink song was a little surprising but she made it work.
I was also surprised that Adam chose her over the rocker cat that was also good in his genre.
I recall her story being interesting when we first met her during the Blind round.

I loved her, her voice is just so classy, there’s a bit of nostalgia with her that I can’t put my finger on, who does she remind me of, or does she just transport me to a different time and place, when songs were lived, I believed every word she sang.
I really liked Blake’s country guy tonight, his name escapes me, but I would put him in the finale with Emily!
My favorite guy went home, Michael Kight…

Gene, I did read that she had battled depression and was going to quit singing and her mother asked her to sing this song by Pink as a way to get her back into singing, so she said she wanted to incorporate it in the show!

Blake’s guy is named Red. He sang demos for Nashville writers for about 15 years. I think he will be a finalist as well.
I knew that Emily didn’t like the way the record companies wanted change her but I didn’t know the part about the Pink song. She sort of looks like Toni Teneal (sp) but her persona is sort of like a beauty pageant contestant with a singing talent.
Did you see the CMA awards show Wednesday night? American Idol was very well represented. but Carrie Underwood’s tribute for the industry members lost during the year, with emphasis on Glen Campbell plus the folks murdered in Las Vegas was unbelievably good! She sang a very heartfelt rendition of “Softly and Tenderly” and left the house in tears, including me and even she broke down and had to take a minute to regain her composure.
Lauren Alaina was nominated in a new performer category and performed and performed one song.. Kelli Pickler was there and pitched a few commercial breaks as well as her new morning talk show produced by Faith Hill. She also has another day-in-the-life reality show produced by Ryan Seacrest. An old judge (Kieth Urban), a new judge (Luke Bryan)and a commercial featuring Randy Jackson and a commercial for the new Idol featuring Carrie’s audition rounded out the evening.
Little Big Town did a version of Wichita Lineman accompanied by composer Jimmy Webb on piano. The “still on the line” Lyric took on new meaning and the singers were choking back tears singing it.

Gene, that tribute from Carrie Underwood of Softly and Tenderly just made the whole night and award show the defining moment…..The whole crowd just remained quiet when she lost it when they were showing the photos of the Las Vegas Victims, the spirit shined through her when she sang like an Angel……. I lose it every time when she does cause you can just feel what she felt with how this world has become…. I personally thank her from the bottom of my heart for being the true human being that she is.. Her stance for being such a strong Christian and singing songs like this that are true to her heart is what makes her the reigning Queen of Country Music….

I agree with you. She laid down a bold marker with “Jesus Take the Wheel” as her first single and has never been afraid to stand up for her Christian faith. It was quite a moment and a fitting tribute to all who were honored.

I’m the same way with the both trashy and political award shows but I had a feeling this one would be different and it was. They did some mild political humor that was fairly distributed.
There was another similar show a week earlier celebrating the Entertainer of the year. They also had a nice tribute to the fallen and our singing contestants were well represented there as well. Phil Phillips and his band performed as well as Danielle Bradbury. I was quite impressed with how much Danielle has developed vocally. Kieth and Luke also performed.

I hear you Vonnie, I am so tired of the political thing too…. Why not just go accept your award and be done with it…… Even the presenters should just keep to the task at hand…… One reason why I watch this show is because I get to see Carrie (because she is host) and watch her perform. I mainly don’t watch award shows anymore, just for what you mentioned…. The AMA’s are coming but I will only tune in to watch Diana Ross perform and accept her award.

Exactly, I have issues with anything and anyone taking a political position on anything that is not political…does that makes sense? Using an award show as a platform is wrong, as Richard said, stay on point, accept your award, be grateful and exit stage “right” or “left” doesn’t matter as long as you exit without uttering a single political word…from what I hear, both parties are seeking fresh enthusiastic faces, they can take their opinions and agenda to that arena and save those of us whom would just like to be entertained with out the chin music from people who’s opinions really don’t matter anyways! Rant over, and look at that, I didn’t bash a single candidate from my soapbox! Proud of me, I am!!! 😂💕

I’ve never seen the point in alienating half of your fan base with “self indulgent” behavior.
I was glad that Brad and Carrie weren’t taking any positions like so many feel entitled to do on these shows. They have hosted this event together for ten years. They do a lot of little parity snippets of songs together at the host podium. They poke fun at each other, their fellow entertainers and people involved in current events. The last group are where a few political issues or names may get a bit of fun poked at them. Most of it is so corny that you wish they would get on with the show, but it’s pretty harmless.
Just wait until we get to the live shows on The Voice….

BTW, the little rocker chick was another one that I have followed through the competition and hoped she would do well. I also liked the older girl that she was paired with this week. I thought she was the better of the two this week but she got the hook and no one stole her. Her experience and higher level of skill was apparent but I can see why the rocker chick might have a better fan base going forward. Anyone else like the rocker?

I like the rocker chick, hopefully she and her coach (can’t remember who’s team she’s on) can find enough songs to keep her interesting. I always forget about the large contestant cut, then am disappointed that a lot of my favorites don’t make it. Don’t they bring back a contestant before that? I really hope Adam brings back Michael Kight.
I’m also hoping JH Production is a little/a lot less annoying in the live rounds than she was in the blinds.
