It may not be the Super Bowl but Monday’s Presidential Debate between former Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton and business man Donald Trump will quite possibly receive Super Bowl ratings. Experts are anticipating 100 million viewers when Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump face off at Hofstra University in New York.

Presently they are almost neck and neck, with Mrs. Clinton maintaining a two point national lead, all within the margin of error. Hard to discern the accuracy of these polls  but one cannot dismiss them.  Both Presidential candidates are powerful figures in every which way and, because of this, extremely polarizing. Their job Monday night will be to garner the millions of Americans who may be confused, undecided, apathetic – whatever – and bring them over to their team.

However, no matter the outcome, it should not be lost on us that when Secretary Clinton walks out on that stage it will be an historic moment. She is the first female presidential nominee and, perhaps come November, the first female President of the United States Of America. This is justifiable cause for celebration. Welcome to the new Millenium.

The debate will be moderated by NBC news anchor, Lester Holt. Poor guy. Who wants to be in his shoes?

The debate begins at 9:00 PM on NBC, CNN and all major networks. Commercial free. 90 minutes. Okay. Game on.

  1. Clinton’s poise tells the story. She stood next to a bully and didn’t flinch. After 15 minutes, he was the one getting flustered. This was an extraordinary performance by a seasoned pro. You don’t fake this kind of control and calm. She was simply magisterial in her dominance.
