Vocal MasterClass Discussion For Season 10 Of The Voice: The Top 11 Live Shows.

The Voice Season 10 Top 12

I was shocked to see that Emily Keener was eliminated last week.

Although there are still very strong singers remaining with The Voice Season 10, I thought she was one of the strongest.  She possessed great stage presence and sang with amazing technical skill. What a shame.

For this very reason, I can’t stand the Twitter Save. You have to be watching the show in real time to have any influence in the voting results. Who does this anymore?  I know I don’t.

Anyway, below you find the names of the remaining singers  I will add the iTunes Links to their numbers in a separate blog topic.

  1. My top favorites for this week were Allison, Laith, and Adam W

  2. I am a fan of Laith and I like Adam but the contestant that I really enjoy this season is Hannah. She’s not a washed up former anything or a never made it bar performer. She’s a regular person who is a kindergarten teacher by day and steps into a phone booth and emerges as a very compelling vocalist. She has an ability to communicate her message on a personal level and isn’t afraid to take a risk or perform without a net. She has that quality that you find in American Idol contestants that makes you pull for them and keeps you on edge hoping she makes it through her performance ok. There are more accomplished singers on the show and one of them will likely win, but I’m enjoying Hannah’s moment in the sun.

I’m becoming more impressed with young Shalyah Fearing and I thought she was particularly good last night.

I also still like Mary Sarah and her “thing” in general but her performances have been a little off.

  3. Hi, Gene,
I completely agree with you about Hannah. Loved her this week. I missed seeing her last week Hopefully she will be around for a while. I am not at all a fan of Allison. I don’t think she has a volume except very loud!!!

  4. Judging by the way iTunes has been this season, I think it’s anyone’s game.

I agree about Hannah. She’s one of my top favorites.

Mary Sarah’s strength is traditional country. Blake needs to let her stick with that instead of trying to push her pop country.

  5. Louise and Idol Girl,
I’m glad that that you two like Hannah as well. I get a real kick out of her and have downloaded all of her songs so far. I was very glad to see her go through for another week. I was also glad to see her choose an Allen Stone song to do earlier in the season. I didn’t really care for the arrangement they came up with for “I Can’t Make You Love Me” but she sang it well anyway. The rest have been spot on. Vote vote vote!

I was really surprised to see how well Mary Sarah did this week. I downloaded her song and the recorded version was more solid that her performance to my ear.

  6. Rocker Chick,

Allison’s one of my top favorites as well. Of course, many singers in my music collection are powerhouse vocalists. Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, to name a few.

  7. Check out an armature video (maybe from her college days?) of Hannah’s called “Gone” on you tube. I thought the vocal and the video which includes an interpretive dance and a decent guitarist was very good so I used the Voice app to request that she sing the song on the show. See what you think.
