Vocal Masterclass Discussion For American Idol Season 15: Week Three Of The Judges’ Auditions.

This week, American Idol will stop off in Atlanta, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Little Rock on Wednesday, January 20th and Thursday, January 21st.

However, there is an non-substantiated rumor that this may not be Idol’s FINAL season.  Just the FAREWELL season. As in SEE YOU AGAIN season.  Has anyone obtained further information on this because I don’t get it. Non capisce!

Anyway, I am going out on a limb and throwing my hat in the ring in support of Tristan McIntosh. I love her gentle, yet nuanced style, her genuine persona and her impeccable vocals. There are others I support as well, but, for me, Tristan, seems to embody all the elements that we look for in an American Idol.

Also, American Idol  has placed  Tristan’s audition in the top position of their FACEBOOK page. And, it has remained there since January 7th so even a pre-schooler can connect those dots.

American Idol airs at 8:00 PM on Fox. You must be collecting favorites by now. Please share in the comments section below

Enjoy the show everyone and, in the meantime, here is a reminder of why I feel that Tristan is a front runner in this competition.

  1. I read an article about whether this will in fact be the last season. Someone said that it might be like the Eagles who had several farewell tours. And the other judges gave answers that implied that perhaps it is not the final season. The producer said something to the effect that if it ever reappears, they would have to make many changes to it to modernize it.

  2. Perhaps someone at Fox got around to looking at a spreadsheet and realized that no matter how they do it, a scripted show is going to cost more than a reality show, and freaked.

  3. Tristan had a good audition. In addition to what you said I noticed she seemed to have a nice sense of personal style is her clothing and so forth. The downside is that they are obviously pimping her, maybe deservedly, but pimping just the same.

I think they would be foolish to flush the whole Idol concept without trying a complete overhaul. It would be nice to see an All New American Idol that bares no resemblance to the current version. Triston auditioned the night that had so many good auditions. It wasn’t that every contestant was great of that any of them were the best to ever appear on Idol, but they did manage to put together a complete night of auditions that were worth watching. Even the two that I didn’t like weren’t bad. That’s a feature the all new idol could use.

    Tonight’s was hard to watch.

  4. I loved McKenzie (?), was disappointed with Adam Lashers audition, why have him talk over his audition??? I did not think Emily was as good as the judges did! However, I have a feeling they want the bookend to Kelly to be a girl.

  5. ITA, Vonnie–Mackenzie (if that’s the right name) was the one who made a medley of judges’ song, right? He definitely has something that I’d like to hear more of.

They probably DO want another girl winner, but there’s a limit to how much they can skew the odds. Once we the people get a vote, it’s all up in the air…

  6. Rachel…Yes! He sang the medley! You’re right on the voting, Lol, I hope! I just am cringing already at the pimping that we will have to ensue in the process!

I would love to see Idol stay on, but only with improvements. I would love to see it come across as a serious talent search! I did not know this, but to have an audition on The Voice, you must be invited…did I dream that or is that a factual statement?

  8. There were quite a few to choose from. More than I can remember for sure. Maybe the best of the night was Zac who had his own take on the Blues and was an outstanding guitarist. He did a Gary Clarke Jr song. The very first girl, the red head (last of a dying breed) the server (aka waitress) were pretty good as well. The redhead had a fun personality that was reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson. There were others but they tend to run together. The middle girl in the drive by auditions had a nice voice as well. I don’t think her name was shown, not that I would remember it.

I also noticed three subliminal glimpses of Tristan, sort of like the way they used to sell popcorn at the drive in theater.

There was the little chicken farmer “chick” who at about 100# could probably whip about 90 percent of the weeny males that have auditioned this year. She had a voice for traditional country that was pretty decent when she was singing in key. The guy from Talladega AL was much better than the judges gave him credit for. I think they are trying to create controversy to get the chatter up a little.

  9. I don’t know. I still love Tristan the best. She sings with beautiful nuance and style. And she has a wonderful personality to boot. She truly is the most memorable one for me. There also were others in the earlier auditions that I preferred over some in the later auditions. And Tristan still commands the top spot on American Idol’s Facebook Page lol
