Rosanne (Giallonardo) Simunovic began her musical career in Timmins, Ontario. She studied piano with Anne Pizzale and later, at an advanced level, with Soeur Anita Vaugeois (Sister Cecile of Les Soeurs De L’Assomption in Timmins). Her vocal and accompaniment skills were nurtured by her aunt, the late Dorothea Mascioli.
When Rosanne graduated from O’Gorman High School, she moved on to the University of Toronto where she continued her piano and vocal studies while attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was hired as a piano accompanist for several musical companies, most notably, the National Ballet Of Canada. She presently holds an A.R.C.T. Teacher’s Diploma in Voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
Rosanne has studied choral conducting with numerous well known Canadian Conductors, including Wayne Riddell of Montreal, Quebec and the internationally renowned Dr. Elmer Iseler.
She has been a founding member of numerous community-based arts organizations: the Timmins Arts Council, later known as Arts & Culture Timmins, the Timmins Symphony Orchestra, and, the Timmins Youth Singers…as well as the TYS Alumnus choir, the Timmins Concert Singers. In 1987, she was also selected to be the conductor of the Timmins Board Of Education Choir, comprised of talented students from Grades 5 to 8.
In 1988, she was elected to the Board Of Directors of the Ontario Choral Federation (now known as Choirs Ontario), where she served as Chair of the Festivals Committee for six consecutive seasons. In 1996, in honour of the Ontario Choral Federation’s 25th Anniversary, Rosanne was selected as one of 25 recipients of the OCF’s Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contribution to the choral art. The ceremony was presided by Lieutenant Governor, Hal Jackman.
In November 1997, Rosanne Simunovic was selected by the Rotary Club Of Timmins to receive the prestigious Paul Harris Award for her years of dedication to the artistic development of young musical talent in Timmins.
In August of 2002, Rosanne Simunovic was selected by the Board Of Directors of Choirs Ontario to serve as Conductor of both the Provincial Junior and Teen Choir Camps, now renamed in honour of the Camp Benefactors, Don and Lillian Wright.
In November 2002, Rosanne was the one of the recipients of the Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, honouring her work in the development of the arts in Timmins.

I hate when reality competition shows are scheduled to be on at the same time! Not fair. “Dancing With the Stars” won me over, but I switched to “The Voice” many times. It has the same feeling, and Adam and Blake still have that chemistry. I really do like Gwen the best of all the female judges. I still haven’t made up my mind about Pharrell, but he has a great background. It was silly when Adam started climbing his red chair and Gwen proceeded to do so. Yes, there’s good chemistry here.
As usual, the focus seems to be on the judges. There were several good contestants, but I really didn’t take notes. I think I’ll watch the show on Channel One and may find a favorite singer. Ratings are down on every competitive reality show. That’s not a good sign!

The Tuesday debut of “The Voice” (4.0/13 in 18-49, 13.0 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) is up versus Monday’s premiere in 18-49 (4.0 vs. 3.9) and total viewers (13.009 million vs. 12.948 million, marking the first time a Tuesday “Voice” debut has outdelivered a Monday premiere in either measure. “The Voice” was the #1 show of the night among the Big 4and won its time period in every key demo – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

i loved the last singer last night. she was originally from jamaica, and came back after no chairs turned in season two. her singing actually brought me to tears. when i listen to it on itunes i don’t get the same emotional rush that i got last night.

I would have to agree with MCL that the shtick is getting old eventhough it has had it’s moments in each of the three episodes this season. I doubt that they are going to address the fundimental flaw of this show, which is spending way too much time on the unknown auditioners in the early stages and then giving the more talented singers the bum’s rush two by two once we final stages of the competition.
There were only two contestants in this round that stood out for me. The fork lift operator that went first and the girl that went last that Hunter mentioned. The first and last thing has become too predictable as well.
I’m with Kariann on my viewing schedule, watching “DWTS” in real time and recording “The Voice” to watch later. It’s easier to zip past the filler that way. How about the Gene Kelly “Singing in the Rain” number? Good stuff. Tommy Chong has been entertaining this season as well.

i wasn’t quite sure if i would watch the voice this season and then thought i would try it. i like it best in the beginning, for me it is the highest energy. there are people i really like. later on when they are cutting people that i like and leaving people i might not be as thrilled with, the energy feels zapped. i just cannot understand sometimes why they pick one over the other.
