This is the week folks! Our Top 30/31 will be revealed after this week’s final solo round, so set those DVRs!

We are almost there and you don’t want to miss this dramatic two-night extravaganza.

I am anxious to hear some of the best vocal talent showcase their individual voices. Group Rounds were fun and all last week, but between the producers’ editing and the singers fighting for a spot in a group, the actual singing never seemed to advance to the forefront. It became lost in all the confusion.

Part Two of Hollywood Week on American Idol will air on Fox on Wednesday, February 12th and Thursday, February 13th at 8:00 PM. Here is what to expect from AmericanIdol.Com

HOLLYWOOD ROUNDS Continue
The “Hollywood” rounds continue Wednesday, Feb. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), as the hopefuls take the stage of the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for group and solo performances. On Thursday, Feb. 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), the Hollywood rounds end with a new twist as the Top semi-finalists are revealed.

Here is a teaser video for Wednesday’s show, featuring 26-year-old Maurice Townsend performing the ubiquitous Wrecking Ball. I am a fan! He is superb, don’t you think?

  1. i’m aware that my taste is not what might be considered idol. for instance last year just wasn’t it for me. as i watched tonight’s show i was in love with carrie ann roche (carrie lyn?) and thought, ‘wow she could win’. and they told her no. she was from detroit and had on a very strange looking dress that sort of looked like a short night gown. harry said she wasn’t a strong singer. i thought ‘huh?’. i wondered if mcl would agree. jlo said she is very stylized and you either like her or you don’t. it reminded me of when philip philips sang ‘the stone’ (a dave matthews song). i was so totally blown away by that song (i downloaded it from itunes) and yet jlo said ‘no one will like that song’. he was totally panned the night he sang it. i couldn’t believe it. so, i am very very disappointed that carrie (ann or lyn) roche has been eliminated.

another person i like is the country guy (farmer) with the cap. he’s so ‘salt of the earth’, and his singing is just so real, so solid. i’m not a country fan, but i really do like him.

i thought the gay girl was a guy. i wondered why they were calling her ‘her’. very interesting. glad she was chosen, it’ll be interesting to see how she changes if she goes through, they mostly always do change.

the one girl (janelle) is from x factor. i don’t know if any of you are familiar with her? i don’t particularly care for her but i know she had a following on xfactor.

  2. Hi hunter…

Jillian Jensen from X-factor; I love her, LOL. I pretty much loved everyone that they have put through so far except for the girl with the pink striped hair.

I just get frustrated with idol when they show some going through that we have never heard sing…such an unfair advantage.

  3. ah yes, vonnie, jillian.

the edit for the pink striped hair female definitely didn’t create a favorable impression. however, just comparing those two singers, i did like her better and was glad she was the one put forward.

vonnie, yes, when those who have had no air play come out to sing, i think, ‘who are you?’.

  5. Hi hunter,

I think about the ones that we hadn’t seen prior to elimination night and then I think about the one’s that we were teased with through out Hollywood week, like the guy with the make-up on…what happened to him? Was he put through did he go home??? I wanted to hear him sing…GGRRRRRR!!!

I think this year is going to be good as far as talent is concerned, last night a few went on that I would have sent home and a few went home that I would have kept. Then we have the two to be voted on until next week I guess…why not let them all go to the live shows and vote 2 off the first week?

  7. yes vonnie, the guy with the make up!! 🙂

and i wanted to hear more from the ‘audio healer’. i think he was probably an amazing person but they made him out to be weird. when they showed him singing it wasn’t that good, they said he was nervous, i would have liked to have him go through. i mean, obviously, he wouldn’t win, but he would have been interesting.

adam will be interesting too. i think he’ll be great in helping the contestants.
