Okay, this is it. The Live Results.

Did my guys, Forte, make it through to the Top 20? They better or there will be major pouting while I blog over the next little while.

The show has already live. It began at 9:00 Eastern on NBC.

I will provide live updates throughout the hour, so stay tuned…

Providing entertainment relief amid the suspense tonight will be Robin Thicke and Brad Paisley.

Live Updates

  • Nick is interviewing the contestants for filler and fun.
  • Robin Thicke is on stage singing Blurred Lines
  • Ordinarily, I don’t enjoy Robin Thicke but this is really, really cool
  • .

  • Crazy per-recorded skit with Howie. He picks random people from the street – dressed in disguise – and brings them on an AGT tour. Crazy stuff.
  • Innovative Force, Struck Boyz and Aquanuts take the stage. Innovative Force move on to the semis.
  • Brad Byers, Kid The Whiz and Dave Shirley move to the stage. None move to the Top 20
  • .

  • Brad Paisley is on after the break
  • .

  • Brad Paisley sings the network debut of “I Can’t Change The World”
  • We now get a sneak peek of the movie, Smurfs 2. Reminds me of when my children were young – and so was I!
  • Marty Brown, Alexandr Magala and Ciana Pelekai. Only one will move forward. And it is Marty Brown. Wow
  • Angela Hoover, Forte – featuring Josh Page, Sean Panikkar and Fernando Varela and Tone the Chiefrocca
  • are next up. FORTE DID IT!!!

  • The judges have to choose between Angela and the Booty people. Heidi likes Booty and Mel B likes Angela. Howie goes with Booty and Howard selects Angela. So, it is a tie. So it comes down to the viewer votes and the viewers have selected Angela. What a great surprise.

    1. Kitty from the last AGT thread – ‘they don’t try to out sing each other’ – I also detect a lack of ego which, along with their training, will take them far.

No pouting heh MCL! Yeah Forte. Change the C to T, clever!

    6. @awestruck – and they also want to win as a team. In terms of egos – it’s not like we know anything at all about contestants’ real personalities. In general, I think they approach singing together as they would singing any trio in opera (even though at this point only Sean is actively pursuing opera career, he was actually featured in Opera News magazine recently as an up-and-coming young singer), Josh and Antonio switched to crossover. One thing I wonder about is what Sean Panikkar’s wants to get from this show and if he plans to switch to crossover or try both careers in parallel: if you look at his website and his schedule for the next year, it’s pretty full.

These three are probably the best classical singers we’ve seen on these shows in all countries. The only one at the same level in terms of voice/technique/artistry was Donald Braswell. I am glad they went through.

    7. Kitty – I believe that all three singers are fully committed to Forte but will still pursue solo engagements as well.

I think that, with Forte, they saw an opportunity to intensify their combined careers and really create an act that will prove to be electrifying over time.

I am so tickled pink for these guys. They have worked incredibly hard and I believe that we are now seeing the culmination of hard work and artistic vision via Forte’s creation. Exciting times ahead.

    9. Aww Kariann!! You are such a sweetie. Thank you so much. It sure has been an exciting time for our family. My cousin, who is Fernando’s manager and co-manager of Forte, has worked his little tushi off to achieve this level of success. We are very thrilled for him and so proud.
