[Spoiler] Vocal Masterclass Discussion For American Idol Season 12 Results Finale

20130516-175150.jpgI know there are tons of spoilers out there and I will add them at the end of this topic when I arrive home.

There is lots of action tonight and tons of special performances. However, the night belongs to Candice Glover and Kree Harrison, two very fine singers albeit with extremely opposite performing styles.

So, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. According to the blogosphere and the media, Candice is the preferred winner and I have to say that I fully agree. Her incredible performance of “I Who Have Nothing” pretty much sealed the deal.

However, Kree gave three very solid performances and her laid-back, pure style is extremely attractive to the country industry people and the country fans. And, we all know now strongly the country fans support their artists!

Okay, the spoilers will be added around 6:30 or so. In the meantime, you can spoil or blab away in the comments section. Let’s get this party started!

I totally agree. It really doesn’t matter on American Idol if a country music artist win or lose.
The country music world will embrace them with a lot of country love.
And I’m so hoping for a duet with Candice and Kree. I believe Candice can bring out the stronger vocals in Kree.

Emeli Sandé and Amber performing the same song that Candice sang last week? Hmmmm
      Angie with two duets?
And if your spoilers are correct, I’m glad Nicki isn’t on the roster to perform one of her rap songs. (fingers crossed)

    5. Hi All

I;m shocked beyond belief . My congrats are not only to Candice but to the Idol voters !! They got it right and I had them pegged all wrong. I never thought they would vote another R&B through but they did . Thank you Idol voters

Vonnie – I have changed some after this show but I don’t know if its enough for me to return ….as for me Idol is not Idol without Randy ….and it has never been the same since Simon left. Don;t know if I’ll return though

And Candice …..God Bless You . Job very well done.

After tonights show I had an experience that I never had before. Areatha Franklin has always been my favorite singer of all time and she was great tonight, but after tonight for the first time in many many years I replaced her and now my new favorite singer of all time …is Ms Jennifer Hudson. LOVE HER.

Lastly ….. Is there anything we can do to get Idol to stop making the singers sing one last time after they win ….they always sound horrible. May be they can play the a recording. A performance like that very last one should never be aired of a winner

    6. Brotherkarl…LOL I agree, poor Candice crying her eyes out and then having to sing!!! They should just let them stand up there and cry and show video’s of them!!!

I am going to hold out and see who is the judges next year…Rumor has it that they are all gone and next year will be all new judges…Sad, cause I really liked Keith this year. I wonder if the Mariah/Nikki drama was too much for Randy!!!

America did get it right this year!!! 🙂

Now on to DWTS finale…AGT…and X-Factor…I haven’t been watching the Voice; too many reality shows on at once for me!!!

    8. Wasn’t this an exciting moment? Candice winning – well that reinforced my faith in this little ‘ole show. The voters totally got it right and my heart swelled with pride to see Candice standing there taking it all in.

I like to hear them sing – the emotion is so powerful and people forgive small problems with the singing because of the power of the moment.

I will miss Randy but, with Ryan at the helm, the show will stay on course. If I had to keep two judges it would be Keith and Nikki. They were very opinionated with their ideas and were able to zero on finite details in a short window of time. Nikki is the new Simon. Haha

I love Mariah, but was expecting more critique from her. She was trying too hard to be nice and, as much as I valued her compassion for the singers, I was left wanting more.

Brother Karl – this must be a proud and happy moment for you. 🙂

    9. Well that was a pretty good finale…I enjoyed many of the performances, and it was sweet to see Candice win. My favorite performances of the night were Adam and Angie’s “Titanium” duet (thought their performance was hauntingly beautiful) and Candice and Kree’s duet.

    10. Beth I agree the most magical performance of the finale was Angie’s and Adam’s “Titanium”. So poignant, so moving, perfectly song, no screeching just breathtaking. Adam was the perfect duet partner, he lent his voice to support Angie and allowed Angie to shine. The resonance in Adams voice is so smooth and gorgeous to the ear.
