[Spoiler] Song Choices For American Idol Season 12 Top 3 Performance Show: Jimmy Iovine, Judges’ And Producer’s Choices

20130507-120034.jpg Here are the Top 3 song spoilers everyone. Sorry, I have no idea which song was selected by the Producers, Judges and Jimmy Iovine but thank you IdolPad for the tip:

Angela Miller – “Maybe” by Emile Sandé
Angela Miller – “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” by Elton John
Angela Miller – “Try” by Pink

Candice Glover – “Next To Me” by Emile Sandé
Candice Glover – “One” by U2 & Mary J. Blige
Candice Glover – “Somewhere” by Reri Grist/Barbra Stresiand

Kree Harrison – “(Fuckin’) Perfect” by Pink
Kree Harrison – “Better Dig Two” by The Band Perry
Kree Harrison – “Here Comes Goodbye” by Chris Sligh/Rascal Flatts

Can’t say I am thrilled about Kree’s song by Pink. Horrible. I mean – the title alone. Unacceptable. This is the best they could come up with?

But I am thrilled as could be about the Barbra Streisand number for Candice. Seems like American Idol is on a Babs kick this season, having selected “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life” for eliminated contestant Amber Holcomb a couple of weeks ago.

Love the Elton John number. Very poignant as long as Angie stays in the moment and does not do the eye candy flirtation with the camera.

So, it’s your turn. What do you think? Share all in the comments section.

  1. Looks like a plan to send Kree home.

First, the afore mentioned Pink song, followed by a song about “digging a grave” for the person singing the song, topped off with “Here Comes GOODBYE.” Hmm.

  2. I think it has the chance to be one of the best AI shows in a long, long, time. I am really interested in hearing their interpretations on the various songs.

  3. Well Angie Fans and Angie herself are not thrilled with her songs.

All season the judges have gone on about Angie performing her original again. She has the chance this week when it was Idols choice but Nigel that manipulating creep trumps that choice and gives the contestants “HIS” choice.

Seems that Candice got the best songs as well as the pimp spot.

Another rumor going around is Adam Lambert is singing a duet with Angie finale night. /!! That should be stellar.

Gene the way you listed Kree songs doesn’t sound like Idol did her any favors either.

But what I can’t figure out is this… Candice does have a beautiful voice but what type of cd will she put out? R&B isn’t selling and she isn’t pop? So why oh why the manipulation for a Candice win? I can see Kree selling well in country. Not my thing but she has a beautiful interesting tone. Angie can sing pop, rock and Christian as well as the singer songwriter stuff. *baffled*

  4. Aubrey, Gene and Don B. – yes, I think they want Kree out. But, in terms of fans, she and Candice have close to the same numbers. Candice edges her a bit, but still… Angie has twice the number of fans so she is sure to win.

I think that Candice getting the best songs and the pimp spot have more to do with the producers wanting her in the Finale in favor of Kree because neither Kree or Candice will beat Angie.

  5. I am in the vast minority if I sample the blogs correctly re: Angie. I hadn’t heard the Sande or the Pink song so I listened. If Angie sings the Pink song anything like the Stay duet with Candace, she will annihilate it. If she doesn’t look at the camera once during the SSTBTHW performance while she is at the piano or perhaps once at the end with a tear in her eye – which she is capable of doing, she will annihilate it.This is a complete acting performance song and she can do something with it that Candice and Kree could never do. She has the ability to so something special with the Sande song. The same holds true for Candice and Kree and their songs. From great difficulties come great opportunities.

The pimp spot is preset. It has been following in order for weeks. Angie pimp spotted two weeks ago, went to first last week, and will be second this week. If she makes the final, she will be in the pimp spot. Candice is one spot in front of Angie so her turn in the Pimp spot comes tonight. Kree was there last week so she would go first this week. I think that is the order they follow, especially toward the end, with eliminations taken into account.

I think making a cd is a money making situation. It really doesn’t matter what style Candice chooses, as long as it has decent songs – originals or covers – and appeals strongly to her fans. That serves three purposes: it sells the cd, which generates interest/keeps fans and which leads to a second cd.

  7. It’s going to be kind of tough for me to watch AI without Amber being there. She and Candice have always been my two favs, but now she can breathe, whereas the other three have alot of work this week. I am certainly going to be following Amber’;s career, and know in my heart she will go on to do great things! That makes me sick what they are doing to Kree. I’ve been worried that they would be having an agenda this week, and it sure looks like it to me. The title of the Pink song chosen for her just blows my mind! Why can’t they just let these girls be, and stop the manipulating. Gene’s right, all the titles of the songs for Kree sound rather depressing. Another thing, one of those songs should rightfully be each girl’s choice This is a prime example of why The Voice has more viewers than Idol. They don’t play these crappy games on that show!

  8. It looks like Angie and Candice may be the last two standing if they continue their plan to get rid of Kree. And it seems as if Angie currently has the largest fan base, but if Amber’s fans throw their votes to Candice, will we have more of a competition?

I think all three young ladies gave good performances. Kree did a nice job with her songs. Candice’s last song was beautiful! With her fans, I am sure Angie will get in there. I hope Candice does too!
