It’s a shame Curtis went so soon. What the heck?! I feel it should have been Lazaro and Paul in the Bottom 2. I’m hoping Devin does much better next week, or he could end up leaving next, which I don’t want to see. I actually agreed with Randy about his performance, though. Candace had the best performance last night I feel. Her voice was just exquisite, and she did a better job than Jordin did even. And Jordin did a stunning job with the song 6 years ago! Then I think Amber’s was next in line. I agree with Jimmy, the girl HAS IT!!! And AUBREY…..OH MY HECK! Can they just let one of the guys go and let that girl come back in the competition already?!!! She was soooo fabulous! Just gorgeous!!! I’m definately voting for her to go on tour this summer!

Yes, Anita, Aubrey was magnificent. Although, I felt that Charlie sang very well – a little tense with the louder dynamics – but his lighter tone is so beautiful. And clear.
However, Aubrey would be a game changer if she was allowed to perform in the Top 10 and they already have their winner selected. It’s the same every year. They obviously adore Candice and Kree so we shall se how this plays out in the end.
I hope Devin can redeem himself. I think he needs to buckle up and perform songs that relate to his style. He shouldn’t listen to Jimmy because this could be his downfall.

Rosanne-I was pleasantly surprised with Charlie. That was the best I’ve ever heard him sing. The song he wrote is very nice. I didn’t even know he wrote songs or played piano!

Personally Rosanne, I don’t think anyone should listen to Jimmy. He gave bad advice to at least three of the Finalists. He played mind games with Lazaro. Poor kid was a nervous wreck! I don’t like what he told Kree or Paul. Let’s get in a mentor to help Jimmy.
I knew Curtis would go home. I was just wondering if Nicki would be leaving with him? LOL! There’s a good chance the TOP 3 girls we saw could be the TOP 3 to do the home town visits! I think Charlie will be saved and on the tour.
The Beatles Songbook is great but I hope they will sing some uptempo songs! These ballads are getting boring with the exception of Candice and Kree. I still have hope for Idol!

I too think that it will be Charlie going on tour…
MCL…I am worried that Candice is going to get the bus treatment, because I think Jimmy and Randy are thinking Amber is their top choice….I like Amber too…but for one year I would like to go through this competition without watching the buses back over people…
Any of the girls this year have a chance at winning if they will leave them alone and let them sing…

Vonnie – yes I worry about that too. Jimmy Iovine loves Amber but he also loved Pia and look what happened to her. Eliminated early on.

What do you think about the vote rankings being revealed this week? Did you like it? Do you think it will continue?

Gene,
I don’t know if I liked it or not…seems like it will lead people to stop voting for their favorites in order to save someone else from being in the bottom…with the bottom three if your favorite ends up there you can start voting more to get them out…they may continue it if the voting doesn’t go the way that the PTB want it to go, LOL.
MCL,
I see what you are saying about the Pia/Amber comparrison; I think that they know the ways to get the results that they want and already you can see the game being played!
Nikki, may be their kink in the hose…she doesn’t seem to be playing the game as of yet!!!

Vonnie,
It’s a good example of the old expression “be careful what you wish for.” Fans have wanted more transparency in the voting for years because of the way Idol manipulates us, but you are exactly right about the potential effect. I think they will stop doing it. I’ll give them credit for trying new things this year. There have been subtle changes for the last few years but this year they have been more dramatic, particularly the inclusion of original music.

Perplexing that Devin was 9th, but I think MCL hit the nail on the head with her explanation that he shared votes with Lazaro. In my opinion his should have been Lazaro’s ranking. America could got the perfect top 3, though I’d argue that Amber is almost there. She just needs to work on her song choice and she might be a force to be reckoned with. Everyone loves an evolution. Can’t say I’m sad Curtis is gone, his over-the-top presence on stage coupled with his cheesy song choices never sat well with me. I just never felt like he was being very real. All the best to him in the future.

That was interesting. While I never thought Curtis would win, I definitely thought that he would stay in much longer then that. I’ve been saying it over and over though … the Idol audience that once supported that style of music ….if not totally gone yet …is quickly dissolving and seeing Curtis voted off so early is proof. Nobody I know who is a sole R&B fans watches Idol anymore. So no R&B’er really stand a chance on this show anymore.
And seeing Curtis gone before Lazaro who very obviously does not have the experience in performing that Curtis has is unbelievable. Whats worst, Charlie may be there and not Curtis ??? How can one of the top 10 be voted off the show before a wildcard who wasn’t even selected as one of the best. Thats just backwards.
Also after hearing Devins earlier performances I never would have thought he would have been in the bottom like that. I;m like you guys though I really think Jimmy’s comments broke his confidence because he normally performs like a pro. This week he was just like an amateur, just like the rest of them.
Candace is my very favorite but I’m 100% she won’t win. With Curtis gone, I promise you half of her audience dropped out too. My honest opinion, personally I don’t think anybody there is star quality. Good but not star quality.
Lazaro will be this seasons Sanjia.I’m just not understanding how he even made the top 10. Hes getting the sympathy vote because he’s a good looking kid and studders. He couldn’t possibly be there because of voice.
I don’t know you guys. I’m really loosing interest in this show fast. It use to give us some hot talents. To me now it seems like all we are getting are copies and hopefuls. I don’t know how long I can hang on. If you stop seeing me here though… just count me as another huge Idol fan gone.
