Jennifer Hudson And The Sandy Hook Elementary School Children At The Superbowl

This is the performance that has pre-occupied my mind all week.

On Sunday, February 3rd, Jennifer Hudson and 26 angelic children from Sandy Hook Elementary School gave a beautiful and emotionally-charged performance of America The Beautiful at the Superbowl XLVII.

Included with the choir members was young Nate Wheeler, brother of one of the victims, Ben Wheeler. How courageous of this young man and how courageous are these parents and teachers who are trying desperately to honor and give proper tribute to the precious lives lost in Newtown on December 14th, 2012.

The performance was truly special and it is a honor and a privilege to feature it on this site. Please share your thoughts and comments. Were you as moved as I?

And what more can we do as a community to help heal the shattered lives of these families? It never seems to be enough and I have never felt so helpless.

  1. It was beautiful. Those kids are so cute and did a good job. Jennifer sang well too but was wishing she could turn around and give some of them a HUG after she finished singing. Probably too emotional. Nice tribute all the way around

  2. She may have hugged them all before the performance. It was so beautiful. My heart is broken for those kids and those families. So unfair and so unnecessary. Senseless.
