The Voice’s Trevin Hunte: The Gentle But Sublimely Talented Giant

On Monday evening, 18-year-old Trevin Hunte performed a stellar, jaw-dropping performance of Whitney Houston’s “The Greatest Love Of All”.

Thankfully, Trevin returned to his roots. It is when Trevin performs this soulful genre of music that he truly excels .

His voice is so rich, fluid, passionate and expressive that he can go places where no singer in this competition dare venture.

And this is high praise for, this season on The Voice, all of the singers are just exceptional.

Each one could be a star right now and blow our present stars out of the water – for no other reason than they can perform live! Live! What a concept!

Please run and download Trevin Hunte’s performance now. ITunes Downloads are part of the voting process so download all his numbers while you’re at it. You will not be disappointed!

I will add a video of Trevin’s Top 8 performance to this blog topic as soon as it is available.

  3. Who would you send home from this group? I didn’t see anyone who deserves to go home. They should expand their tour dates beyond what they have done in the last two years for this group. I would like to have a ticket.

I thought Trevin left some of his song on the table for some reason. It seemed like he had more to offer particularly in the first half of the song. He connected with it at the end though. He was better in terms of stage work than I expected and sang well in the group number. Melanie doesn’t fair so well in the group performances, but you could actually hear her voice when they all sang together. My boy Nicholas isn’t that great in a group either but he worked pretty well with the “Pips” last night. That guy puts a smile on my face every time I see him perform. He must of spent the last 50 years in a time capsule.

Cassadee is at number 2 on iTunes this week, Melanie is at number 4 and Nicholas is at number 9. These singers plus Amanda are “my team” so I’m pleased to see them charting. Casadee’s song from last week is still ahead of everyone else at #14, and then Amanda comes in at #18. Next is Cody at #37 and Trevin at #38. I listened to everyone’s iTunes samples last night and was surprised how good Melanie’s studio versions were. Very marketable.

Until last week I would have bet everything on Trevin winning but Cassadee is making a strong run for the win.

  4. I still prefer Melanie this season. I find her voice unique and haunting. Last week and this week Melanie is keeping up with Cassadee in Itune sales. Seven Nation Army is still selling. I was sad to see Cody Bam Bam go and felt Nick should have gone. I would like for Melanie to over take Cassadee but with the Voice always giving Cassadee the pimp spot and showcasing her in group numbers, it is evident who the Voice PTB want to win.

  5. As soon as Dez picked Christina as his coach I knew he was a goner. It was only a matter of time. And Christina’s desperate bordering on rude comments on performance night didn’t help.
