Masterclass Discussion Thread For America’s Got Talent: Group Two Of The Top 48

Last week’s show was quite predictable don’t you think?   Georgia singer/musician Nate Kenyon and the amazing act known as Fighting Gravity were destined to move forward to the Top 12.

The cystic fibrosis sisters, Christina and Ali, seemed a logical choice as well, while the judges moved Future Funk through to the semi-finals.

I will reserve further judgement until all of these performers have an opportunity to showcase the true potential of their individual talent.

And so we continue with our Group 2 performers tonight. Make sure you drop by and add your comments before, during and after the show.

Hope it’s sunny where you are. It is for me, so I am going to take full advantage of this glorious day.  Later, everyone!

  1. I couldn’t believe Howie last week! He literally waited until the last minute to choose who was to go through! That choice must have been tough though!

  2. I missed the Results Show, bizzee! What happened? Was Howie conflicted on who to put through to the next phase?

  3. Yes, it was a last second decision. The judges had to choose between RNG and Future Funk. Piers chose RNG, Sharon chose Future Funk and it came down to Howie to decide:

It was crazy. But I can understand how difficult the decision must have been!

  4. Oh NOW I understand. What a situation for the two remaining acts! They must have been on pins and needles.

I wonder who will move through tonight? I thought Michael Grimm was outstanding. Loved the 12-year-old male singer as well. Not as blown away by the magician since my favorite magician didn’t make it this far. Loved the rock climbers and the dancers who learned their craft “in the streets” – Wreckless I think the name was?

  5. We’re on the same page, MCL. I feel very confident that Michael Grimm and the rock dancers/climbers will advance, but as for the other two spots, I’m not sure. I think the audience might go for the 12-year-old as well as the older female singer. But they could also advance the magician and the street dancers. I seriously doubt if they will advance Hannibal. Last week I was much more certain of the four acts which would advance.

Well, it is predictable after all! I don’t know about Antonio, I had a hard time watching his 90 sec magic act. Do you all think that the stage is so “busy looking” that it is hard to see the acts? American Idol does so well with their lightning, camera crew (or grips as they are called) and close-ups. The Circus Sel something french was also hard to watch from my perspective and I have a 42 inch TV! Evidentally, it was awesome as all the judges and audience gave a standing ovation.

Do you all like Grimm’s new look? Yikes! I really like the way he was!

I am sorry about Wreckless ~ but perhaps Antonio has a better “Las Vegas” look. I am sorry that the judges said to the Wreckless that they did not have to “dress up” and they should look the way they were. That was heart wrenching because I am sure they spent a lot on the costumes.

That Ronith was a hoot but it was sad that AGT kept him around for comic relief and because he is foreign, he really thought he was good and did not have a clue.

Personally, I do not like the Ascenders ~ I cannot see that as a Las Vegas act ~ I would be bored to death if I went to see their show. Well, maybe I am speaking too soon and perhaps they will change my mind with their future acts.

Hannibal was a hoot too, but I am sure he will get something on Broadway.

I don’t know if Alice should go through because she has a famous daughter who was nominated for an Oscar ~ and certainly she would have “connections” Do you think so?

  8. SurelyBSerious,

Yeah, I’m not sure if I like Michael Grimms new look either, I liked him as he was…wreckless was robbed! They should have moved up, shame on the judges!

I think it’s the angle of the camera or the distance that they are from the stage, yes something is very odd about their stage and the ability to see clearly!
