This is my good news item of the day. And didn’t I predict this new and exciting venture for Ellen?
Well, actually, I said that Ellen should start her own talent show, but this is sort of the same thing – in fact even better. She has a show already, so a record company seemed to be a logical progression.
Therefore, when Ellen introduced us to 12-year-old phenomenon, Greyson Chance, she seemed far too invested in his musical success to just hand him over to any ‘ole record label. So, she started her own –eleveneleven – and signed the young prodigy.
And get this! If this wasn’t enough excitement for this young man, according to People magazine, it also appears that:
Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, and Lady Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter, have agreed to co-manage Greyson.
Today, viewers of the Ellen Degeneres show were fortunate to see and hear Greyson’s own songwriting talent when he performed “Broken Hearts” on Ellen’s program. And it was a very impressive performance. He is singing technically better and his voice certainly sounded more fluid and relaxed than when we first heard him a couple of weeks ago.
And I was even more impressed with his songwriting skills. The song was performed with no other instrument except a piano, played beautifully by Greyson. Can you imagine the result once Ellen gets him into the recording studio surrounded by professional musicians? The sky’s the limit! Plus, he already has his own Wikipedia page. Got to love the internet – it opens up so many possibilities for so many people.
He still has to watch that push when he powers through his upper range, but, overall, his singing was pure and spotless.
However, he is 12-years-old and I am concerned that this young man will be going through a voice change very soon. I hope it will be a smooth one and I pray that he secures an excellent vocal coach to guide him through the process. That being said -I’m available!
Enjoy everyone!
MCL…I think this is a wonderful venture for Ellen, she seems to be so passionate about music and she showed that passion and concern with the contestants this year.
I wish her all the best and I hope she is not one of the changes for next year, I hope Idol keeps her, maybe they can trade her and Ryans positions around, let him take Simons place and she takes Ryans!!!
