A Masterclass Tribute To the American Idol Top 10 2008 Tour – Produced and Edited By Bizzee247

A STICKY POST

Somedays, it just pays to drag yourself out of bed and start another busy, but mostly, uneventful day. And then, just like magic, one person’s thoughtful gesture can turn your day around and put an indelible smile on your face.

This is exactly what happened this afternoon when one of my readers, who goes by the pseudonym of Bizzee247, presented me with a special video surprise to commemorate our Masterclass Idol journey here on MasterclassLady.Com.

It is wonderful, creative tribute to all the singers and David Cook’s, heartrending performance of “Time Of My Life” just takes on a whole new meaning as the video moves forward.

Bizzee247 created such a sensitive and memorable portrait of all the singers, before and during the tour, and, you will note that she added some pictures from my concert/”meet and greet” experience in Toronto Ontario Canada.

Watch how she rhythmically matches the word “life” with both David Archuleta’s and David Cook’s picture on two separate occasions – Archie’s at the 2.46 mark and Cookie’s at the 3:00 mark. Brilliant!

This video experience gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. She fully captured the essence of this talented, diverse group of singers, truly the best we have seen from any season.

Thank you Bizzee247, from the bottom of my heart and from the depths of my soul for this beautiful, precious gift. I will cherish this always!

MCL NOTE: This video will be stickied at the top of my homepage for a week and a half and then very carefully moved to my MCL Sticky page for future enjoyment.

  1. You are most welcome, MCL!!

  3. Well – here goes another addition to my youtube favorites!

Bizzee — thanks for this wonderful montage. I am just so enthralled on how such talented people can put these together – may I ask how much time this took?

  4. MCL, I enjoyed this season so much – it truly was one of the best!!

Thank You so much, Archiefandoc! It actually did not take long to put together at all. The hardest part was finding the pictures I wanted. I then just randomly put them into the montage and then organized them to my liking 🙂 – I guess the whole thing took me about 1.5 – 2 hrs! I did have a little bit of problems uploading it onto youtube, but that was just technology being technology and it all worked out in the end!

  5. A response from me(bizzee):

MCL has done so many wonderful reviews for us and also finds the time to answer our many questions – how she does it is beyond me! And even during the summer, which is the time for some R&R, she kept going with daily blogs about the Top 10 tour, including sharing her own personal experience about meeting the Idols with us. I have read many of her reviews over the past few seasons, but only started responding this year – and am I ever glad I did. So, this is my way of thanking her for all her hard work! 🙂 I know I speak on behalf of all your readers in saying “Thank You” and we all look forward to next season of American Idol!

  6. Bizee247 and MCL, Thank you so much for this tribute and posting it. It truly was a memorable year, one that won’t be equaled for a long time to come, if ever. I consider myself incredibly fortunate having randomly found AI last January and with 90 seconds of “Heaven” I was hooked. I’m grateful for the diverse talents of all the contestants and wish them all the best.

  7. Although it won’t be until later this week that I can view the video, I just thought Bizzee24’s tribute to MCL was so kind. I admire the talents of those who can actually do such work. MCL we all appreciate your blog and how much it has grown. More work for you and we benefit. THANK YOU!

Janey, how great that you did tune in. If you can, try to watch American Idol Rewind 2. The Top 3 of Season 2 is coming up with Clay, Ruben and Kimberly. They are awesome and you can see changes in the judges’ approach.

  8. Bizzee – you asked how I kept the writing momentum up all summer?

The answer? You and the rest of my loyal readers. Every day was an inspiration when I logged on to this site.

You cannot keep a site like this active, energetic and fresh without the input and commentary from the readers.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your contribution to the growth and success of masterclasslady.com.

Standing “O” to the readers from Masterclass Lady. You truly deserve it.

  9. Janey and KariAnn – thank you as well. And keep on sending those videos in! I am sure there will be more Davids, Jason et al love happening long after the tour is over.

And, just so you know, I hope to expand this site even further. I have many, many ideas, but it’s hard to put them all into place with only 24 hours in the day. haha. And, now that I am back for another season of teaching singers, my time is more limited than ever.

But, will do my very best to keep this site current and active.

  10. Bizzee- i am having a hard time posting a comment on the YouTube page for this video. Anyone else experiencing the same difficulty?

  11. MCL – I hopefully have fixed it; I had checked off the wrong box!

I look forward to your many ideas for your site – it truly is a great one!

  12. Bizzee – i tried posting a comment and it still didn’t work. Maybe it’s a glitch on YouTube’s end. I’ll try one more time before heading to dreamland. 🙂

  13. MCL – I have ventured over to YouTube and have tried to fix the problem but am not sure what is going on. One question I have for you – where exactly are you running into the problem? (Okay two questions) Is the problem right after you type in the comment box and then click “post comment?”

  14. Is the problem right after you type in the comment box and then click “post comment?”

Yes, Bizzee, that’s it exactly. Isn’t that strange?

    Like

  15. Okay, hopefully I can help as I was having the same problem on another video I was trying to comment on:

Right after you type in your comment and then click “post comment”, click your browsers “refresh” button – the comment should then appear (hopefully).

  16. Bizee – will try this tonight. Have to teach some singers this afternoon, but will log on tonight and give it another try! 🙂

  17. Any luck yet MCL? Another question I had is if you had an account on YouTube. I know that in order to comment, you need to have one. Other than this, I’m not sure what the problem could be, I have gone over the editing functions of the video and everything seems to be okay (although knowing me, I could be missing something completely 😉 ) – I will go through it in depth later.

  18. I just tried it again. The comments never appear. They basically freeze in the comments box. I’ll bet many more people are experiencing the same problems.

    Soooo frustrating, isn’t it?

  19. You know what, Bizzee? I just tried to leave commentary on another video and it failed. I am going to try this again on my main computer – Maybe it’s my “Windows Vista” notebook – grrrr.

  20. Okay, my comment on Patricia O’Callaghan’s “Hallelujah” video appeared and I tried again for the AI Tribute, logged in, refreshed my page-the whole nine yards – and nothing happened. GRRRRRR

  21. MCL – I have no idea what the cause could be as I have gone over and over the video and its editing functions so, I share your frustration – GRR!

The only other suggestion I have would be on my end and that would be to have me re-upload the video onto YouTube; although I’m not sure what that will do to the link on your page! GRR!

  22. Okay – so it accepted my short reply, but, when I wrote a longer one-nada! I truly don’t get it.

  23. I’m just as confused as you are! Well at least we know that comments are able to be made! 🙂 Now we just have to figure out why only the short ones – are you keeping them to below 500 words?

    Like

  24. Yes – they were definitely below 500 words. I think there must be a glitch on their site. Were you able to post your comments without trouble? This is the first time I ever had a problem.

    Like

  25. MCL – I hated to ask the question, but its written so small beside the “post comment” button, that I’m sure many people miss it.

Yes, I have been able to post comments without trouble. This sure is strange and has thrown me for a loop – but I am determined to get to the bottom of it..ha! I am sure it must be a glitch with YouTube.

  26. Masterclasslady keeping a comment below 500 words?????

FYI – same problem with posting comments on Youtube pages for 2 days now.??

  27. ArchieFanDoc – so it’s not only me. And, yes, I am a verbose little lady, aren’t I? haha.

  28. Well i’m just as stumped as both you you, MCL and Archiefan! I do not know what the problem is – I am going to try and reupload the video – I really hope this does not cause a problem for the link on this website.

  29. I have just re-uploaded the video onto youtube. MCL, unfortunately the link is no longer available on your page – you will just have to copy the new link. I will inform you when the video has been processed – I hope this works! Keeping my fingers crossed….

  30. Okay – the video has been added and processed and is good to go (hopefully!). MCL – all you have to do is change the link on your page! 🙂

Please let me know if you are able to make longer comments now – I hope so!

  34. Very lovely video. 🙂

Masterclasslady, I didn’t know where to post this, but I wanted to share with you to know if you’d give your thoughts on the subject.
Last sunday David Cook sang the National Anthem with his brother. I thought it was a very interesting version and they did a great job, even though David’s young brother had some off notes, but still very interesting.
David does the low register there for the most part, and goes higher in other parts of thesong. And I thought it was very good, I guess this is the lowest we’ve listened from him.
In case you’re interested in listening to it, here’s a clean MP3 of it http://www.box.net/shared/1xpo61h0h8
    and the youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y5YfnlhEsI

Thanks for always sharing your knowledge with us.

  35. Joshne – thanks so much for adding this great link. I listened with a smile on my face because they look and sound as if they have been vocally disciplined through their choral experience when they were younger. And, being a conductor myself, I can fully appreciate the wonderful blend of their voices in this rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner”

And, I always did feel that David had a resonant lower range and, after listening to this video, this confirms this fact. His lower range is endowed with a pitch-perfect, resonant vocal timbre – so pure, so clear. I love it!

And what I loved even more was witnessing the obvious affection that they have for each other.

    Thamsk again, Joshne
