SPECIALITY: THE SCIENCE AND PHYSIOLOGY OF VOCAL MUSIC

Jennifer is a classically trained pianist, who caught the singing bug in high school (where she became addicted to performing in choirs!).She became obsessed with vocal pedagogy and immersed herself in as much reading material as she could find.She has studied (in some capacity or another) classical bel canto technique, Seth Riggs‘ Speech Level Singing, Brett Manning’s Singing Success, Cathrine Sadolin’s Complete Vocal Technique, and Jo Estill‘s Estill Voice Training—the latter two being methods that are on the cutting edge of scientific vocal research.

Jennifer is a true soprano, who loves performing all styles of music, and she also serves in her local church as a praise (worship) leader and a member of the choir. She was also a contestant in a local singing competition where Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) was a judge.

She is a member and participant of several message boards devoted to discussing vocal technique, and has had years of moderating experience on American Idol-related message boards, most notably Idolforums.com (where she is the longest-standing moderator, having served since 2003).

Jennifer loves studying the anatomy/physiology of singing, diagnosing singers’ vocal problems, and helping them develop healthy habits.She also loves educating fellow singers by busting myths and equipping them to be able to sing with longevity.

Jennifer recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, with a B.A. majoring in Sociocultural Anthropology (with department honors) and a minor in Biology. She iscurrently on the bubble for the rest of her life and excited to see where her enterprising spirit and skills in singing, fiction writing, web design, and graphic design take her.

Jennifer thanks you for joining her in this new phase of her journey. She is honored to be given this opportunity to share her vocal knowledge, and she looks forward to future conversations with all of you.
