The 7th installment of The Sixties show airs on CNN at 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 24th.
This week, we gain exclusive insight into the dollars and drama surrounding the most affluent time of the Space Age – with particular emphasis on the Moon Landing in July 1969.
I thoroughly remember devouring every nook and cranny of informative updates regarding space technology.
It was incredibly fascinating and exhilarating time in aeronautical history.
Unfortunately, dollars and interest began to wane as the years went by. After the second or third moon landing, the majority adopted a “been there done that” attitude, refusing to look at the larger picture and all that space exploration offered to the world.
My personal view is this: space exploration came at a cost and, quite possibly, was a contributing factor to the drastic climate changed we have currently experienced.
What do you think? Were the dollars justified? Do you remember the moon landing and later the explosion of The Challenger?
