Aren’t you loving Usher and Shakira? Both have great personalities and have established immediate connection with veteran judges, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
My Monday and Tuesday nights have never been so much fun! What a ride!
And the singing talent is exceptional as always. I am loving – craving actually – the diversity and the sublime musicality that these singers bring to the show.
However, over the next few weeks, we separate the men from the boys and the women from the girls. The Battle Rounds escalates the competition, as singers from the same team battle it out against each other.
At the end of the Battle Performance, their judge/mentor decides whom he or she wishes to keep as a member of his or her team.
However, the eliminated singer is up for grabs by the other three judges with the inclusion of a new feature that was introduced during Season 3 called “The Steal”. It brings an added level of excitement to the show and it is completely voluntary whether or not a judge uses it, but it gives the eliminated singer a window of hope for advancement.
So tune in to NBC on Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 P.M. and see which singers are selected to compete the four teams.
See you in the comments section!

I absolutely love Shakira! She is so sweet, personable, likeable unlike Demi, Brit, Nikki, Xtina and Mariah. I wish they would take notice of how to be a world famous singer and still kind, caring and nice.

Favs so far tonight for me have been Garret and Taylor. Glad Blake duped Usher and he stole Taylor. I had hoped Usher would steal J-Sun as he was really good also.

Ugh. This stage of the competition is so dragged out. I was switching channels all night.

yes, too much of ‘repeated stuff’ like ‘ohh you’re both so good i can’t make a decision’, etc etc etc. i still remember some battles from the very first season that to me were THE BEST. tonight’s weren’t THE BEST. i wish blake had picked that guy, forgot his name, rather than the two brothers (okies), but blake does go with his heart and if he feels more connected to someone, i get that, but gosh i wish that other guy would have been stolen, just because he is so fun to watch.

I agree Hunter. I preferred the male soloist over the duo. Wish I could remember his name.
But I am not a fan of Judith Hill from Team Adam. Her voice is gritty and raspy – no clarity or presence – so I don’t understand what Adam sees in her except that she sang with Michael Jackson.

MCL the young man’s name was Christian. I also felt he was better than the Swan brothers. In fact I said to friends, the Swan brothers sounded like his back up singers. I was hoping someone would use a steal on him. They should have as Christian has a lovely tone, good range and control.

Tonight I liked Joshia and Caroline. They stood out and I was so glad that Caroline was stolen. I had hoped she would pick Usher because if he could make Beibs happen he could make anyone happen. Adam in 3 seasons has not helped any of his contestants make it.

‘roxanne’ is one of my all time favorite songs. it wasn’t done all that well tonight. however it brought back to me memories of the snl skit with Kevin Nealon & Sting in the elevator. that was just sooooooooooooooooooooo funny. does anyone remember that? i just went googling and couldn’t find it. there were a couple sites that seemed to have it but it wouldn’t play. i would have loved to share it here.

the clip they’ve been playing over and over (the ‘tease’) with usher ‘disciplining’ the guy for laughing: i thought that would be less than it was, but it actually ‘did happen’. my take from it is, the guy laughed with nervousness. usher was doing a power play (playing dictator and king) that was unnecessary, and scaring the poor guy into insecurity. i didn’t like it. josiah’s manner (‘posing’) and hair reminds me of James Dean.

hunter…maybe this is why none of the people Usher tries to steal will go with him…I’m sure word has gotten around…he will have a tough time next year if he continues like this!!!

The music Biz is tough and if Usher is tough on his team GOOD! Laughing and joking and not being serious and giving it your all, will not get you anywhere in the Music Biz. You must be hungry, focused and work your tail off to make it. Everyone wants the record deal and the $$$ but not put in the work.
IMO Usher will find a singer willing to work and he will make them a star. If me I would welcome the type of harshness Usher is showing. It would toughen me up and prepare me.

aubry, from what i saw, the guy laughed not from mirth or play but from insecurity in his thinking he didn’t do good enough in front of a famous person. in that case, usher’s reaction was not going to make this guy do any better. i believe in tough love but i also believe that each human being is allowed human dignity and i think that usher was acting like ‘superior being’ rather than ‘coach’.
