Phillip Phillips To Perform New Single On American Idol Season 12 Results Show

Has anyone heard Phillip Phillips‘ new single, Gone, Gone, Gone? Yes? No?

At any rate, you will be able to catch it live on the Thursday, March 14th American Idol Results Show.

Before I listened to the song, I wondered whether the haunting arrangement we heard in his hugely successful American Idol single, Home, would find a place in his new single.

And the answer is a resounding “yes”! The percussive energy that propelled Home to the top of the charts is very evident in this number, complimenting the catchy and infectious melodic line.

And the pure quality of Phillip’s voice is a constant, as he moves seamlessly throughout his vocal range, adding a touch of gritty nuance when necessary. This is a clean and articulate performance and recording and will, undoubtedly, become another hit for Phillip.

Congratulations, Phillipp. You’ve done, done, done it again!

  2. i’ve heard the whole album and actually like some of the other cuts better. i read some where that it was really jimmy iovine and what he did that has made phillip so successful. i know when i heard his first song (and those ‘drummer boys’ crossing the stage), i LOVED that new song (home). i don’t think that has ever happened with an idol first song, they’ve always been so cheesey, and obviously the public liked that first song too. soooo…there’s something to be said for jimmy.

  3. p.s., at the moment ‘home’ is ranked 27 on the top 100 downloads of itunes. it has ranked much higher for a long time, but to still be there after all this time (when did idol end?) is truly something new for idol, i think.
