There’s nothing like healthy competition between rival singing competitions to heat up the TV airwaves.
The Voice and The X Factor have monumentally improved and I have to extend high kudos to the producers and judges for elevating both shows to an unparalleled level.
Who knows where they are finding these singers but it is discovery after discovery after discovery of potential stars.
This years’ crop of talent on both shows rivals anything I have seen on American Idol over the past four years, with few exceptions.
Of the two shows, The X Factor began its second season as the underdog, but, to my mind, it is keeping The Voice on its toes.
The X Factor has really upped the ante – the implementation of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, the revelation of some exciting new talent, the seamless and entertaining production – all are proven factors in the success of this show.
And this week, the weeding process begins. It’s not going to be pretty but you can bet it will be entertaining. Lots of drama ahead. I love it!

There are some great singers here Rosanne. I am looking forward to the live shows. I think this year’s winner is gonna be hard to pick from the start. I’m looking at Diamond White and Vino Alan as potential winners this season but there are a few more that are very good. Cece Frey blew me away with her rendition of “I Will Always Love You” but she leaves a lot to be desired in the personality department. A couple of the groups were also very good. Emblem 3 has a great lead standout singer and the other 2 are not too shabby but that lead guy has a great voice. I’m not sure they consider him the “lead” singer but I think some coaching may convince them to let him carry the group and the other two to take a more supportive role in order to further the success of all 3 of them. What do you think should happen there?

Although I was a huuuuge fan of the first season of The X Factor, I will admit i prefer The Voice this year. The X Factor, I feel, has given too much space to drama in the show instead of focusing on the true talent they have… I will agree with you though, I find it amazing that even after so many years of talent shows, they can still find so many incredible talents!

Adbreez – welcome. Yes, The Voice has stepped up their game in a huge way.
The X Factor auditions went well and the talent was amazing.
However, after last night’s Bootcamp episode, they lost me. Everyone choked it seemed and some of my favorites received little airtime.
There were some great performances but the poor ones were insanely poor. What happened? They sang in front of a ton of people during the audition rounds? The heat of the competition is too much for them I guess.

I think it’s only fair that everybody gets their fair share of air time! That’s why we’re seeing new faces that we only got a glimpse of during the auditions! I was dissapointed Jessica Espinoza didn’t make it through, but the chokes are part of the game, and you gotta be able to face the pressure of Bootcamp if you wanna go further!

I’ve come to the conclusion that for a very high percentage of contestants on any of these shows that the performance they give in their first audition is the very best they have to offer. We are lead to believe that they are being coached, nurtured and developed and we can’t wait to see them in their fully realized state. Most are filler and we only see a glimpse of them early on because that was the only presentable portion of their performance.
Vino remains interesting along with a few of the girls.

I am in agreement. I can take or leave the X-Factor at this point. However, I am really enjoying The Voice. There are so many I like and am anxious to see how this Steal works. It seems you would have to give away one to add another.
Both CeeLo and Christina will be leaving and two new judges will be added for the January episodes. Therefore, it would be nice if one of them had the winner. I am disappointed so far in the X-Factor.

Kariann – yes, the X Factor seems to be losing steam while The Voice is gaining in intensity and excitement. Apparently, next week’s shows are epic – as they will introduce The Steal. Cannot wait. Hopefully, The X Factor will gain momentum once the live shows start.
